QB Conundrum

I would bet 50K that it will not be higher than 175. The owners are losing a lot this year and aren’t going to give it back. Especially when next year could be the same(I hope not).

There a reason that OTC has already changed it to 175.

If it is $175 mil, I will be interested to see how the Saints magically make it out of that.

Is there a single QB in NFL history who doesn’t occasionally miss reads and open receivers ? That’s a strange criticism. I don’t know of any evidence to suggest Teddy does this more or less than other QBs, but if you have that, I’d be interested in seeing it.

Saying he goes to his check down as his first read is odd considering Moore and Anderson are on pace for ~1200 yards each with Teddy under center, which is pretty remarkable.

Just because stats are being accumulated doesn’t mean he is making the best read. And you used the term occasional. I did not. I think Teddy panics and forces the short pass too often because he is scared of taking hits. People complain about the line but I believe he has more time to throw left on the field and he checks down out of panic or habit.

I don't watch the types of scrambles Teddy has been making and think to myself "Now there's a dude that is scared of taking hits".  I don't think I've seen him slide yet...he puts his body on the line quite a bit for a dude barely over 200 pounds.

You're making some pretty confident claims here...I assume you watch the All-22 for every passing play this season?  If you're actually basing your claims off of what is televised on Fox, then oh boy.  99% of the time, receivers aren't even in frame on passing plays on TV...so I'm not sure how you determine who was open and who was the right read on any given passing play, the latter of which you wouldn't even be able to say definitively without knowing the play call.

If Teddy wasn’t scared to take hits he would stand there a little longer to deliver a deeper ball. And I do watch All-22. I also attend a game each year and watch them live each week I don’t. Nobody in their right mind thinks that Teddy hasn’t left plenty of plays on the field. Sorry I’m at work or id type out longer replies for you. So if you are waiting for a reply at times thats why.

I don't think we draft a QB this year.  Do you really want a rookie QB behind this line?  Teddy is here for the rebuild which will take a few years. We have so many glaring needs at other places.  But, that's just my guess.

I just hope this is the last year I have to watch Teddy at qb. Its fugging panful. All this speed at wr and a very weak armed qb.....fug me

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
