There should be someone in the booth watching these replays and communicating with him on these matters. If that person thought the catch looked clean I'm not sure he should stay in that role. I'm not certain that call should've been overturned, but I am certain we should've been rushing to get that snap off before the replay buzzer came down. It was clearly a play worthy of reviewing, definitely not "clean".

But it could have been a case where someone in the booth said “yeah he caught it there isn’t enough to overturn”. You never know if he just mis spoke.

DJ sure as hell thought he had it.

Meh, defense was ass under Rivera too. I don’t believe that at all. Offense was good because no offseason under Cam. Rivera then hired Mike Shula two years later and poo went terrible on offense real quick.

Have you forgotten the “Rivera can’t win close games” mantra? It’s a lot like what we are seeing now.

Yeah, I can't get along with it. That team had a better defense top to bottom. They had prime Charles Johnson, Greg Hardy was coming up, prime Chris Gamble, James Anderson which is better or on par with Shaq Thompson at this point, and Dan Connor. Which is better than Whitehead at the end of the day.

The offense had Jordan Gross still, a Rookie Cam Newton, Steve Smith, Jeremy Shockey, Prime Greg Olsen,  prime Ryan Kalil, 28 year old DeAngelo Williams too.

It would be a different story, if Rhule had THAT to work with. Instead, he has on defense Rookie after Rookie after Rookie after Rookie. Shaq Thompson, Rasul Douglas, Tre Boston, and Tahir Whitehead. At one point yesterday, we had 3 Rookies on the D-Line playing, and 6 total on defense.

I won't get into the fact that Christian McCaffrey has been out, and Robbie Anderson, and DJ Moore don't hold a candle to Steve Smith. Or the fact that there was a prime Greg Olsen on that team. That team should've won more games, but Rivera was such an ass coach, especially on defense. They didn't do poo. Give Rhule some more talent, a better QB, because a Rookie Cam Newton is better than that poo we pounce on the field every Sunday. Mr. Check down when 30 seconds to go and down 3.

Especially when most analyst are impressed with what Rhule's done so far.

DJ needs to catch that ball.

Argument could be had that Teddy needs to get more under these balls so our WR don’t have to continue to come back and win contested catches. Tired of these wounded ducks. Hit him in stride it’s a TD. Happens every week and happened twice yesterday.

Either way, irrelevant to the point. Had he caught it we weren’t in position to spike the ball because our coach didn’t realize the clock does not stop on first down.

What? The ball at the end of the first half was a dot. Jesus man. At some point put your emotions aside and try watching with your eyes.

That first ball to DJ where he burnt Davis hung the hell up and that should’ve been 6. No doubt about it. But at the end of the half, that was a good throw.

And yes they were in position to spike the ball with 8 seconds left had he caught it.

    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
    • Good luck to Burns. He’s fine as a third pairing defensemen but Rod is too stubborn to do that.
