Cotton Bowl tonight: "Kyle Trask can silence any remaining skeptics"

Unless you can give the players a “cause” to rally around, there’s not much you can do to motivate top programs.

OK really wanted a chance to wash off their playoff performances of the last 5 years. A shot at a top SEC team was it. Then FL players drop out enough masse, and they HAD to win or their credibility would have been gone for a long time. Sux for OK players who wanted a shot at the full team.

And TXAM is trying to prove they should have made the CFP. Which no one will remember except their fans.

Most sure it’s fixable with all the easy money they are making. It will take fans just losing complete interest for anything to even be considered. Don’t travel and quit watching. I watched the 2nd quarter and that’s the first bowl game I’ve turned on this year. Probably last. Have no interest in Auburn’s bowl at all. Which is sad.

Oh, I fully admit to being part of the problem. Here I am watching this shitty excuse for a football game when in hindsight I should've absolutely tuned it out. I'm gonna watch the Orange Bowl because I'm a huge Heels fan despite the fact we're showing up heavily short handed against an elite team. I AM the problem.

I’m not. ;)

You’ve always been a pretty good sport in conversations I’ve been involved in. I appreciate it. And congrats ( a little early ) on the dominating win. Oklahoma should have been in the playoff on my eyes. And not just based on this game.

Ha. Yeah. I’m just hoping these guys comeback. They do, OU will be in the Title hunt.

Rattler is ridiculous. I like Howell but he’s not Rattler.

Howell is making late round draft pick WRs look like stars. Just saying. His #1 WR is a late round pick. His #2 WR is a possible mid-round pick who is a slot only WR and punt returner at the NFL level.

We all are. And after that crap show of a HC search I just had to be involved in, this is actually a minor issue in CFB. Nothing like telling about a billion dollars worth of people that the football program isn’t their personal “side piece”.

OU doesn’t have any WR’s that are even Draftable right now. Lol. And all his receivers combined have dropped 10 TD’s.

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
