I know you didn't link a report, but there was one about him forcing himself on a medical professional. And you alluded to Manning's incidents being nonconsensual.

Yea looks like also in 2016 Tennessee was sued and this type of output from something else:

There have been several sexual assault complaints made against Tennessee student-athletes over the last four years, including former football players A.J. Johnson and Michael Williams. They were indicted on aggravated rape charges in February 2015 and have separate trial dates this summer.

OFC I don't know what really happened but I do know if it happened anytime close to now it'd be investigated and the light would be on him and his past experiences maybe to include those affair partners. Not even making  a judgement on that what I am saying is his squeaky clean image would be different for sure.

Didn't George Bush the first play for Harvard or some poo?

Also, throw Teddy Roosevelt in there. That dude would challenge other heads of state to boxing matches.

I think you gotta take Teddy. That's a first round pick If'n there ever was one

I agree. He's marketed himself as "good guy", and those are sometimes the ones that are hiding the most.

It does seem that things are getting better for victims having their voice heard.  In today's world, Manning would probably be publicly bashed and lose his sponsorships.

I was a big Dan Marino fan until I found out that he is not a good dude at all.

Screen-Shot-2015-02-13-at-9.39.49-AM-770x519.jpgDo you need proof of just how tough Teddy Roosevelt grew up to become? He was shot during a speech in 1912. He said, “It takes more than that to kill a bull moose,” then continued his speech for another 90 minutes in front of a horrified audience.

    • He was saying Ron hid when he was cut/traded whatever that was.  I get being resentful, and feeling like that was gutless.  He, and Ron, neither are from the ‘breaking up with someone in a text or email is okay’ generation. That avoidance is seen as a lack of character.  Talking about it on camera how many years later? Why? And it is all one sided he said she said stuff. As he is speaking I am thinking well I bet that ain’t the whole story.    Between this type of stuff and him cheating on the wife stuff some of his shine is wearing off.
    • I was very critical of Ron Rivera as a coach for a range of reasons. But Steve Smith has been playing the victim for years now and it's just not working anymore. We know for a fact that he was disgruntled from the moment we drafted Cam Newton because of his own ego. That says more about him than anything he could say about Rivera. And yes Ron Rivera had a lot of faults. No excuses for it. We were right to move on from him. But ultimately Steve Smith couldn't hold it together with that group the same as he struggled to hold it together under previous regimes. He needs to grow up and accept his own role in the last few years of his Panthers career because there are things he could and should have done differently the same as anyone else. Stop seeking to only shift blame to everyone else and evolve or just stop talking and fade away. This isn't helping anyone and it is certainly not helping his image.
    • A friend of mine was involved in building Steve Smith's house and nearly came to blows with him during the process.  Love Smitty as a player, but I've heard very little good about him as a human being.
