Right, but there have been reports that Miami isn’t moving on from Tua. He can’t go to Miami is they don’t want him.

In context though, the current situation is that the Texans aren't trading him.

Do the Dolphins still say they want to stick with Tua if that situation changes?

From the article above...

They’re a popular team on his personal wish list and have the draft capital to pull it off.

I'd rather have Watson than Tua so I'd offer Tua and a couple of picks for the better and more sure thing QB.

Interesting point. Them benching Tua during games this year is a tad concerning, but the reports were talking about how Flores and the GM believe in Tua. Of course, Rhule said the same for Cam...

Which highlights another aspect of that scenario.

Besides draft picks, the Dolphins can also offer a starter quality quarterback in return.

Would be great if the Panthers ever ended up with a bunch of draft picks for sucking poo.

We never even get to trade our good players...hope this is one of the many changes with the new regime going forward.

Watson is open to waiving his no-trade clause in his $156 million contract extension signed in September.

The Carolina Panthers, led by owner David Tepper and coach Matt Rhule, covet Watson.

...

As for the Texans, nothing has changed since chairman Cal McNair drew a line in the stand about Watson again last Friday when he said in telephone interview: “Deshaun is a Texan, and he’s going to be a Texan.”

If the Texans remain dug in on not trading Watson, then he’s not expected to report and would incur hefty fines. That would include $95,877 for missing a mandatory minicamp, $50,000 per day for every day of training camp missed, and $620,000 for each regular-season game missed.

...

The Texans have been firm in their desire to not trade Watson even though he isn’t returning telephone calls and text messages intended to sell them on their vision for a new leadership structure of general manager Nick Caserio and coach David Culley.

“Our quarterback is under contract,” a team source said. “He is going to be our quarterback.”

...

Great stuff, thanks.

The guy who wants out caves on the no-trade-clause...who knew?!?

No mention of Fitterer, hmm.  There's a lead horse here, look for the spotted coat... 😎

2nd time today I've seen the subject of fines discussed...while not mandatory, OTA's aren't too far off.

Texans certainly do appear resolute...

You literally cannot post a single article with any of the details of the nature of the discussions with the Texans or what was said or how it was said or anything of the sort.

Exactly.  Gentlemanly negotiations done in private and respectfully don't generate "a single article".  JJ's video is a clear window into how it went down, you're blind.

Going MIA, demanding a trade, refusing to return phone calls & emails, threatening to sit out, posting cryptic twitter blips, etc...

...this is the sort of selfish, low-road/low-rent aberrant behavior which generates a media firestorm of speculation --- the vast majority of it with no basis in fact!!

Texans made the guy the 2nd highest paid QB in the entire NFL and this is how he thanks them...

...clearly someone is giving a good kid some very bad advice.

    • Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.
    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
