His defense was fine but he was slow on those passes and rebounds later in the game.

Liability is probably an overreaction. He just doesn't look like the Dougie we've come to know. His offense was a huge part off his game. I don't know if he's not seeing things as well or if he's not as confident in his shot anymore.

Offense is his game...based solely on defense he's a bottom pairing d man.

We need to put Fleury and Gardiner back together tomorrow. The biggest liability from the back line I see is Bean right now. He'll get there but TB isn't the team to do it on. Not saying Bean is bad either but he's been making critical mistakes the past two games and not really adjusting.

First game I didn’t get to watch all year.  I guess this loss is on me?  Give me all the poop emojis you want...apparently I, and the team, deserve them after this stinker! 💩

I didn't see the game, either. I heard the term "lackluster performance" more than once later last night when I got to check some scores.

The team is tired right now while TB was off for 4 days before starting this series last week. TB will probably put Vas the Vaj back in net because this is a crucial series and even a tired Vas is better than either of Carolina's rested goalies.

We don't even get two days off in a row until next Friday either and still have 4 more road games to get through + 1 more back to back against two different teams with no travel day.

I expect Vas as well. No idea why the Canes commentators are expecting the alt goalie.

Here is the projected lineup for the Hurricanes.

Forwards

Foegele-Staal-Fast
Paquette-Lorentz-Martinook

Defensemen

Slavin-Hamilton
Skjei-Pesce
Gardiner-Bean

Goalies

Reimer
Nedeljkovic

Scratch: Fleury

Still don't get why everyone is hot on bean after the last two games. Should be Gardiner and Fleury. Curious if Rod blends the lines a little more or goes back to this basic setup tonight. Also really wish we had TT at this point. Don't exactly know NHL concussion rules but we likely could be down him until at least next Thursday if he doesn't travel separate of the team.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
