Best rivalries

What do you think is the best NFL rivalry of the last....

five years?

10 years?

20 years?

All time?

I say five and 10 are both Colts/Patriots, 20 is Cowboys/Niners and all-time is Cowboys/Redskins. Thoughts?

As for the Panthers, five would be Atlanta, 10 would be Tampa and all time would be....Niners, maybe?

Oh yeah, those competitive Redskins....

All time is def Bears/Packers

Redskins have three Super Bowl titles, Cowboys have five. That's eight.

Packers have three, Bears have one. That's four.

Redskins have been to five Super Bowls, Cowboys have been to eight. That's 13.

Packers have been to four, Bears have been to two. That's six.

There was a long period between Lombardi and Favre where Green Bay was terrible. The Bears were, too, in the 70s. Seems like Dallas has always been at least competitive and until Daniel Snyder came along, so was Washington.

5 weeks- Jake Delhomme vs. fans

10 weeks- kemo's injury and questions of our defense vs. reality

20 weeks- everette brown vs. our 2010 1st round pick

all time- Our inability to have back to back winning seasons

..................our biggest rivalries in my eyes :)

Uh, between the two they own 21 NFL championships. Both teams were playing (and winning championships) well before the Super Bowl. That's like grading a test halfway through. The only patch of time where at least one of them wasn't competitive was the 70s.

A rivalry has NOTHING to do with how many titles you've won, genius.

    • Question to the posters on this thread because you are knowledgeable--I love watching and pull for the Canes, but I never played so I don't have the understanding I had when I played football then watched it.  Having said that, Do you think we are weak at Center?  I see the team to be pretty strong on the wings, promising defense, and weak at Goalie.  It would be ideal if the Canes had 1 more position to upgrade, not 2.  I don't think you can count on Anderson to play a full season and he is 35.  However, are we solid at Center in your view?
    • Couldn't agree more, Kooch is erratic and Freddy is fragile, maybe save the remaining cap space for a goalie stud at the deadline
    • There is one play that sold me-- it was around 2:38, I think.  It was 4th and 1 and the QB telegraphed and threw the ball out wide to TMac.  He had no blocking (the TE was very late) and four defenders collapsed on TMac behind the LOS. They seemed to know it was coming.  He got hit behind the LOS and battled through several hits to get three yards.  THAT play showed me his fire.
