Literally no legitimate QB evaluator likes him as anything more than a clipboard holder in the NFL.

I really want to like Trask, mainly because he's improved immeasurably in college, but he isn't the guy to hitch your wagon to.

If I lined all your college QBs up in a race of QB'ness and my guy beats your guy by yards and yards?!? Yeah.

This is why you can go strictly on college QB stats. A couple good QBs in the top 25 college QB list. You have to look at his they can play at the next level with better competition. It’s why Mac Jones won’t go number 1 overall to the Jags.

8 is magic, stay there and take BPA.

We got CMC at 8 and Luke was a #9.

Some good value at that spot.

I still say we stick and take Mac Jones when he comes around. The only exception is if one of the two top tackles is still on the board or maybe, maybe Micah Parsons (who could be close to a replacement for Luke.)

Drafting Trask earlier than the 4th would be a reach. Trading back into the 1st to draft him probably gets you fired before the 2nd round starts.

Idk about that one. Trask likely goes in the 2nd. There is a lot to work with.

If we draft Mac Jones in the first round I am getting hammered immediately after. Yikes.

    • I mean, you've seen it two offseasons and drafts You can see it in the value ratings more in this draft than the last one. We had more to work with, but you could see the setup of this draft by the moves in free agency as clear as day also. No, BPA is not a myth.
    • Loosely related thoughts .. I really do feel for Icky but if he had been healthy no way we take Freeling.  I think the big extension he was in line for and was getting, would have been an overpay. So in a way this might be a break. Depending on Freeling working out.  If I were offered an even money bet on whether he returns to form or is a shadow of what he was, I am going with shadow. I just wouldn’t count on him for anything if it was going to cost market value. G, RT, whatever. To me, he needs to sign an incentive laden short term deal that doesn’t leave us on the hook if he can’t cut it. Go from there.    He caught a horrible bad break but at least got 17.5 mil as a consolation prize. Or 16.5 or whatever it is.
