Green Bay...

Rodgers holds the card that he has made a poo ton of money over the years. So it isn't like he can't pay for electricity if he doesn't show up and play. He could just wait out and either retire or until the Packers brass buckle and decide to get something for him.

Career Earnings: $242,327,500

That goes back to the whole "high standards" question.

I doubt anybody would deny that the Packers are one of the best teams in the league. They just haven't been the best.

It's all relative.

I'm no Aaron Rodgers fan, he comes across like an A-hole.  So I'm sympathetic with Green Bay for wanting to move on from him in another year or two when Love is gtg.

On the other hand Packers haven't given Aaron the help he needs to reach the promised land.  Selecting his replacement in the 1st round tells Rodgers it is only a matter of time before management pushes him out.

Since Rodgers only has so many years left to play, either provide him with the supporting cast he needs in Green Bay or trade him so he can help another team to the championship.

I wouldn't expect Aaron to continue to play the role of a stopgap until Love is ready to take over at the time and choosing of the Packers. Especially when Rodgers could be playing for another team that views him as someone who will win them a championship.

The NFL is strictly business.  Both for the owners, and the players.  Didn’t the packers make their choice by drafting a QB in the first round?  Now the packers can live with that decision, just as Aaron will.  Wonder if he takes the Carson Palmer route.....both were/are in a financial position to sit it out for a year to get what they want.

And what equated to a 3rd string RB with their 2nd rounder following the Love pick in the first....was GB really hammering the point home that year to Rodgers.  We aren’t drafting and building to help presently.

Are we certain that's gonna happen?

...is a mess.

Heaven knows Rodgers has all the talent in the world, but good grief what an entitled, narcissistic douchebag he's become.

Aaron, the HOF is whispering in your ear.  Are you listening?

I'm not sure Rodgers could see it any other way.

I'd be looking for and exit strategy as well.

Not sure why Green Bay should be surprised by any of this.

and it isn’t a knock the player.  But Aaron Jones is a bad dude.  And GB already struggled enough getting him enough touches given they so heavily rotate in (the solid backup whose name I can’t remember).
