Most mocks have us taking yet another guard as bigs seem to be in short supply…I’m starting to think we should use our pick in a trade for somebody

I'm open to trading the pick. But my guess is that we'd rather use FA or Trade to address the starting center spot anyways.

If we keep the pick, there could be some intriguing wing options there to replace Monk in the event we don't re-sign him. Kispert is a guy I really like among others.

If we make a play for Myles Turner then the 1st round pick is definitely part of that package. With nothing to back me up, I feel like he is the most likely target followed by Allen and then Drummond.

That would be the right move. You can still load up on center in the second and thirds because there's a ton of centers to choose from throughout the 2nd,3rd,etc in this draft.

There is a lot of potential and depth at C in this year.

We don’t need to pay monk anything big, that’s for sure

and we always need shooters

Garza, I think, has more of that killer instinct than Kaminski. Plus Garza is already heavier than Frank. Garza is a big heavy dude 265lbs. He'd automatically push Frank around.

When I look at the center position, you've got to be a heavyweight.

Will he be there at 11?

Will WE be there at 11?! (High trade possibility) Garza is a late first rounder, probably a second round guy this year. Being that most of the top echelon will be guards and forwards this year, bigs are going be a bargain.

Not saying it's going to be easy to get Garza or Cockburn, somebody will target both, but as of now both are project to be AFTER the first round, plus there are other bigs "rated" higher than them.

Would I take Garza at 11? Me, yeah, but I'm that guy who was telling everyone Kyle Trask was worth a second before the draft and Tampa drafted him in the second.

I'm not a Kai fan yet so if I NEED a center I'd draft a couple like when Gettleman drafted Star and KK.

Both Garza AND Cockburn were big-time scoring 5's in the Big10, Garza 6'11"265lbs, Cockburn 7' 285lbs. Me? I've locked in and I'd try like heck to get both.

They've got Kofi at 4, Garza at 8. I really think Kofi will rise.

Is Center more of a need than BPA? If so you've got to pick the best one there at 11.

Not an impressive list unless the Europeans are good

im intrigued by sharpe…he is big and clumsy but what a talent…Roy said he could be the best rebounder he ever had (of course after playing a few years)

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
