Use vocabulary properly and not exaggerate. That's how they grow up to be realistic and stable members of society. If we ourselves cannot do this then our children will likely also fail to achieve this and they will likely have difficulties functioning within the society which unfortunately is a very real reality today which my children are VERY aware of.
But to hold athletes to higher standards than we hold our elected Government officials doesn't make sense to me. Right or wrong isn't the question. I think it's wrong but it's reality. The world may not be as we'd like it to be but we still have to live in it and as parents we must prepare our children to live within the realities of the world and to avoid people who believe they are morally superior as history shows us where those people take us. .
