this team has never even played down 3 points on the season though.   I think that might be the in game adversity he was referencing.

How does Darnold play down 10 early for example?   Is he going to keep playing smart? We still haven't seen a lot with this group.   That's coaches too.

I don't know about everyone else but I bet Darnold has lots of experience playing from behind.   And last year we surely had lots of experience so I am not sure that they haven't faced adversity in the NFL. Just not this year so far. I think they will keep pounding.  Especially the defense.

Cowboys are favored between 4 and 5 points. So the betting public is saying they're a 1-2 point favorite on a neutral field. This doesn't seem too far off from reality.

The panthers have faced weaker teams and an injured saints team and done exactly what they should do to them. Won easily.

The cowboys have also done exactly what they should. They contended against the Bucs, keeping that game close. They beat a very good chargers team and easily defeated a bad eagles team.

I get them being 1-2 point favorites given strength of schedule discrepancies. I also think we've been undeperfoming due to low quality opponents and have not begun to peak offensively. I'm super excited to this game as it will be the first real test. Can our defense contain a great offense? Can our offense keep up with a great offense if the defense can't keep them under 30? Can't wait for this game to find out.

Very good?

Fans don't play the game of course.............and both times I've seen the Cowboys played they have played as a complete team..........

Panthers are going to have a hard hill to climb here against a team whose executing well on both sides of the ball.

Panthers injuries is making them near one dimensional on offense (where is the power running game?) with mostly short passing routes............

Defense might keep them in it for a while but I see Panthers losing by 17..............and I hate the Cowboys but still have to look at reality for what it is.......

    • Pretty much. I'm basically treating Bryce as a rookie again this coming season in that I have no stats expectations, no wins expectations, I'm just looking for him to pass the eye test. Just show me that you have the talent to be a legit NFL QB.
    • Anyone could clearly see right out of the gate that our offensive play calling was horrendous. Anyone. The fan base was expecting secret plays that we were holing back during preseason to catch the opposition by surprise. That didn't happen. We got old recycled plays from the early 2000's that were embarrassing and didn't even come close to working. Then to make matters worse, we KEPT calling the plays that didn't work and looked awful OVER AND OVER again for weeks. Team after team knew what was coming, and what was coming was idiotic. The quadruple deep hook route was the worst of it because it led to a sack of bad pass 100% of the time. We were not call plays to set up the defense, but rather we were calling plays in a vacuum as though the previous failed plays didn't happen. Didn't matter what the opposing defense was doing, we just kept calling mediocre 00's plays that no one else was running. No one got open. Then, like a blind squirrel finding a nut, a play would work by accident, and Young would throw a turkey to nowhere, or not even notice guys were open. Young was a nightmare. Weak, confused, and rolling out the right to throw a turkey to the sidelines or nowhere. Over and over and over again. Opposing safeties were confusing Young with motion and by baiting him, but the worst part was his noodle arm. Overcranking deep passes to mars that would have been TDs with a better QB was soul stealing to see. What now? We're just trying to not have a disastrous 24' season. Just hope for improvement from Young, and good play calling. Maybe we can get 4 or 5 wins. Keep your expectations low, and if Young becomes a star you can be thrilled. The odds are low.
    • I have deep concern that the answer might be both. Reich did a terrible job of catering to Bryce while Bryce just flat out didn't look like he had starting NFL talent.
