Gilmore did not travel, will miss Giants game

Honest question, do the Giants have any healthy pass catchers this week? Not sure how big a need Gilmore was for this week. If he misses next week, I will start growing up a little concerned, but this week...nah. our defense against their offense isn't a concern for me.

Their...or really any... defense against our offense, that's the concern.

I don’t care how he plays rather start him this game than on the road against Falcons JS.

If he's not playing here next year we turned a 6th rounder into a 3rd rounder.

Only thing wasted here is your energy.

I was going to bring that up in another thread but then I forgot to.

There is literally nothing bad that can come from this and flipping a 6th into a 3rd or at worst 4th is just galaxy brain move from Fitts. Oh, and that's just assuming he isn't just a shutdown #1 which is the best case scenario....flipping a 6th as the worse case scenario is something we can live with methinks.

Great point rayzor.  That trade has a built in can’t lose

So we need this game with week 9 looking like we could be whole so to speak with the injuries

    • Oh yeah the QB is huge in this stuff. Imagine what Smitty could have done with a surgeon back there. And some more offensive minded head coaches. It was always run heavy. He was one of the best I ever saw and people didn’t know who he was outside of Carolina, for the longest time.
    • For sure, any college scout that touted Bryce Young as worth the first overall pick, needs to be gone. I don’t think the college scouts are so much the issue, I think it is the minds of the decision makers that have the most influence.  If this draft produces, and Morgan was really in charge, maybe Tepper will develop some respect and stay back and let people work.
    • I just am not aware of regimens that offer increased velocity which is the biggest weakness I can see in Young (that needs addressing right now). Is it possible to do? Who has done it that we can see as an example? I guess I am saying before I believe weights will give him added zip on the ball, I would want proof that it works.    I think weight room would help him not be pulled down by two fingers, even if they are big strong DL fingers. They are still fingers controlling 185 lbs. So that needs to be addressed but it is a secondary issue behind his footwork and ball velocity. It might help too, in allowing him to retain some velocity while not putting 100% effort into throws. Which should help his ‘deep’ ball.  I agree they can’t fix his footwork on those pistol or gun snaps where he slowly goes backwards and does the tippy toe thing.  Maybe putting him under center and taking the option of that type of drop away from him, forcing him into the classic under center style. Drop and plant and throw. Maybe that would help get around it.
