I am. It was obvious that we weren’t a SB contender but that we had a lot of young core talent. The amount of cap we wasted would have made keeping Reddick and Moore and Burns and Chinn really easy. The comp picks and draft position are all improved. The QB situation might even have been solved way cheaper. A smart rebuilding team doesn’t throw away $30M for two years after watching Anderson fade in the second half last year without seeing how he plays this year.

Oh well, it happened and. It looks like we will likely lose some of our young core because of these decisions and likely some coaching changes. Of course QB spot is about as unanswered as 2010. Unfortunately, we’ve already won 4 games so no Cam coming to our rescue.

^^^this…

I hope we’re all ready for how potentially f***ed we could be in the near future. Prepare to lose young talent like DJ Moore, Brian Burns, Donte Jackson, Yetur Gross Matos, and Jeremy Chinn. I can honestly see us losing over 2/3 of these players in 2 years.

It's so much more exciting watching Fields play tonight than any Darnold game. Even if Fields isn't doing great yet you can sense the teams excitement of having a future franchise QB

Fields is playing 100x better than anything darnold has shown this year. We are really going to regret that horn pick.

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
