He hired Matt Rhule after lobbying for Tomlin to be fired. I guess you’re saying he might have learned more since the Rhule failure?

To be honest, all Tepper has to have learned in the interim is that he should hire a highly regarded NFL consultant to find the next head coach, rather than relying on his gut instinct or people like Marty Hurney.

Letting Marty Hurney hire your HC is like bringing in the guy that mowed your lawn to make your blueprints for your new built home.

Sooners want that Kingsbury guy at Arizona who was a HC in college and is doing ok in the NFL.

Rhule might have done better as Panthers HC had he surrounded himself with successful NFL coaches who had years of experience.  Instead, he was giving the keys to the kingdom and chose to surrounded himself relative newbs like himself.

I’m big on Eberflus. I liked him during the last search. I also like Daboll from Buffalo.

I have this weird feeling Mike Tomlin is gonna get fired and Tepper is gonna hire him since he’s a Pittsburgh guy.

Yes. Because the Steelers have a history of firing coaches on a whim…lol. Tomlin wouldn’t work for Tepper anyhow. He’ll be the Steelers coach for at least 10 more years.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
