Cam's New Arm

So, does anything in that clip look familiar?
Would everyone agree Lamar, at this point, is a much better player than Cam Newton? Let's look at Lamar's stats vs Cams when facing this new Miami blitzkrieg.

26/43        60% 238 1

1

Cam Newton 5/21       24% 92 0 2

So, obviously, Cam is done. I think it was damn stupid to make him the full time starter this quick, or ever again. I think he still has uses in goal line but that's on him to make that change but point being, we had an obvious disaster waiting to happen facing Miami, no matter who we had at QB. I think PJ could have done a little better but probably not much.

What I really belive happened is, we came out strong, which is a good sign of us not giving up on our coaches, but we got hit in the mouth early by the refs and the entire time just deflated. Then they dialed up the blitz and Cam started pressing and just making bad throws and it was never going to get back to within reach from there.

But please, step away from your pitch forks and have perspective. Perhaps, Oline was never going to be in play for us this year and the front office didn't want to get a shiny new QB or an expensive QB busted up with this shitty line. IDK.

That would totally explain why they picked up darnold’s option before he ever played a down for us. It has nothing to do with the complete inability of this staff to evaluate players and assemble a competitive roster.

    • There is always  Bro we have eyes. They saw Sunday and they saw just one week before.  GWD is a weak stat to base a player grade on it should really be a team thing.  But at any rate we can all see how the QB plays each week. I don’t know why we even need stats at all to be honest. At least for these evaluation purposes. I mean, in GWD you have to look under the hood to make sure you aren’t getting sold a bill of goods.  They are fine for keeping records of yards and completions and points given and allowed and fumbles and so on.  For defense yardage is a bad indicator of rank for instance.  You can build a nice looking house of cards on yards allowed; if you play from ahead you are likely to give up more air yards than rushing. The farther ahead, the more air yards. For one instance. So what it it telling you? Not that you have a bad pass d all the time.
    • I wanted the Browns rookie LB this year, Carson Schwesinger
    • Ehhhh Idk about that..... If our d core is healthy these guys wont face these kinds of crazy chances also keep in mind when the are all healthy they haven't all played together much to develope chemistry and experience in rods system.    People always want to blame goaltending but our scoring has dried up completely in the playoffs and we've lost many games we onlu allowed 2 goals or less with a goalie on the ice. Overcoming this adversity and scoring far more consistently both off the rush and designed plays so far this year has me hopeful.   Also keep in mind its very possible that we will be the most experienced team in the eastern playoffs our classic kryptonite teams of NYR, TBL and FLORIDA are struggling none are currently in playoff position
