Bacot has just announced his return to Carolina and word is out that both Love and Leaky are coming back as well…

Dawson Garcia has decided to enter the transfer portal again…

As it stands, Carolina’s roster looks like this.

G - Davis (S), Trimble (S), Lebo, Watkins

G - Love (S), Harris (S) , Walton (S), Dunn (S), Landry

F - Black (S), Nickel (S), McKoy (S), Farris

F - Puff (S), Styles (S), Washington (S)

C - Bacot (S), Shaver (S)

This would put Carolina one scholarship over but it’s highly likely that Walton, McKoy, and even potentially Dunn could transfer.

McKoy and Dunn love it at Carolina. Their excitement and team first/trust the coach mentality never wavered. Styles had a really good quote about how at least the freshmen this year never wavered on that even though they had little playing time.  Harris is in the portal as his academics kept him off the court and I bet he didn't get his grades on track during the glitz of the tourney run. So Harris is gone, and the insiders say Walton is gone as he and Garcia have ties from AAU ball. Supposedly Walton has been down since Garcia took leave from the team. Plus the obvious of Walton doesn't fit in at all anymore(can't create own shot, no defensive ability) and would sit for two years. These other players fit the system too well. If they get Shannon Jr. from Texas Tech and everyone comes back, they are going to have a monster!

As you mentioned, Walton is most likely gone. Personally, I hope Dunn stays but I really don’t like that McKoy is taking up a spot. He seems like a great guy but I don’t think he’s an ACC caliber player.

I’d love to be able to go to the portal and get Shannon and K.J. Williams from Murray State. I like that Hubert was cautious with our freshmen this year and I hope he does it again.

My ideal 13  deep team (scholarships) would be…

G - Davis, Trimble

G - Love, Shannon, Dunn

F - Black, Styles, Nickel

F- Williams, Puff

C - Bacot, Shaver, Washington

Leaky graduates and Harris, Garcia never really did anything here.  I think Love might test the waters but with Trimble on board we should be looking good regardless 

Wait…apparently Leaky has a year of eligibility. Wow, wasn’t aware of that and gotta think he takes it.  Nice

I've never been a fan of him. I've watched a ton of Big 12 ball (easily the best conference in the Nation). The past few years and he's a twat. 

When OU beat them in the Big 12 Tournament. The game was our of reach, and he went and dunked the ball with 5 seconds left then raised the roof. I don't mind a troll, but that was absolutely moronic.

      I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.

      Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
