I get it. I wanted fields or move up for Lance this past year.

I just don’t trust this staff to pick the right guy is all.

even if it flounders it’s far more conducive to your long term success to have josh Rosen lead you to kyler Murray than to have a parade of 1st round picks spent elsewhere

i mean don’t get me wrong, the quality of the product was better when it was a team game. But it really isn’t anymore, not in the way it used to be.

If we’re throwing darts at the board as far as qbs I take Malik with a coach like Hackett. Dude has all the talent in the world just needs to be coached up.

That's a HUGE concern though. Especially coming off an injury that may lead to never getting back to 100%.

I'm not bring petty. You're being unrealistic and extraordinarily revisionist.

Drafting a QB #5 with medical flags actually speaks to how well thought of Tua was.   Remember, he went just ahead of Herbert who had no medical red flags.  Ron took Chase young (defensive junky), The Lions were still all-in on Stafford, the Giants had just drafted Jones the year prior.  Had there been a need, Tua and Herbert could actually have gone higher.

If we pick him at 6........Jesus Christ.    If we were to trade down and get more picks I wouldnt cry picking him in the late teens only if we got a poo ton of picks for #6.  Straight picking him at 6 with no intention of playing him is retarded at the very best

Also another thought is Darnold is that Rosen that can lead us to a kyler Murray. Why not just roll with him, draft a blue chip lineman? Something to think about.

I’m waiting to see who the OC is before i start gravitating to anyone.

pickett’s got a lot of starts, could weather some bad coaching for a season. If I like the choice at OC, I may be willing to stretch a bit more.

This next season is fuged regardless. I said if I had to pick a qb at six it would be Malik with the plan to get a new staff to groom him. If rhule is longterm here no way would I want him grooming Malik.

In the long term especially with the rookie salary cap it’s cheaper to use your first rd. picks at QBs vs what we have done with trading picks and wasting salary cap on Teddy and Darnold.

I mean we tried that. Now we’re talking about improving the roster around darnold a bit more and hoping things get worse.

and of course you’re still discounting a valuable and plausible opportunity at finding a franchise guy. Seems kind of bird in hand to me.

    • Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.
    • I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
    • Is it possible for someone to regress in maturity as they age or has Steve really just been a jerk his entire life?
