Will Tepper rein in Rhule or will Rhule be able to do what he wants this season?

It’s no doubt that Rhule is facing pressure to put up results but my question is how far would Tepper let Rhule go to do so?

 

Would Tepper rein in Rhule if he tried to trade future first round picks/blue chip players or do you think he will sit back and let Rhule do whatever he wants to dig himself out of his current mess?

You laugh, but he might actually believe it.

Said elsewhere he clearly thinks Rhule can still succeed with a few upgrades to his coaching staff.

(and then Tepper can step up and take credit for suggesting it, of course) 🙄

I'm just laughing to keep from crying. He either believes it or he knows Rhule sucks and he's hanging onto him anyway either due to the contract or just no knowing how to fix it. Either way, it's a very bleak outlook for Panthers fans.

      You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.

      Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
