Sigh…what would you suggest we do right now?  Pretty simple stuff…but I am trying to get you there

Take the best left tackle at 6.  Make rhule run it back with darnold for next season.  Especially since he talked him up and gave up draft capital for him.   If that doesn’t work fire rhule hire a new guy and draft a new qb in the first so they come up together.  This isn’t rocket science.

Oh, I can think of plenty.

Nah.  It’s simple.  We aren’t giving up draft capital for a hurt qb on a 1 year deal when we have darnold eating a cool 18 mill.    If in the unlikely event he gets cut we are not giving jimmy g a multi year deal to come here.

in closing jimmy g isn’t coming to Charlotte

You're not factoring in a desperate coach and an owner desperate for NFL caliber QB play. You seem to be expecting the Panthers to suddenly start making rational moves at QB. I don't.

So if Neal, Cross and Ikey are gone what then?  You are not as smart a person as Matt Rhule so I will leave coaching to him.  Easy to sit behind a computer and question everyone when you aren’t vested.

With their stated and historic aversion to drafting QBs, why wouldn't they offer a multi-year deal?  They essentially gave Darnold a 2 year by picking up his 5th year.

They have gotten burned on teddy and darnold.  They have to have learned their lesson by now.  Third time the charm and all

I think (hope) by getting burned 2 years in a row that they will pump the brakes a bit.  Plus he is hurt.

They might reach…the media is totally expecting this.  If we don’t we have to give Fitty credit.  I think Fitty knows talent…he just needs time.

    • To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.
    • Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
