Do you guys honestly think Rhule and/or Fitterer are making unilateral decisions when it comes to the roster?  A coach/GM relationship should be highly collaborative; otherwise, that's a sign of a highly dysfunctional partnership IMO if they are on wildly different pages on roster moves (FA, extensions, draft, etc.).  It's very difficult to evaluate them individually when it comes to roster management.

I've tried to evaluate how he's done based on the moves themselves and how they fit with Rhule's philosophy. The FA moves have been the greatest weakness not including this year, because we haven't played a game. Elfein and Irving both seemed to be the "versatile" linemen Matt is so enamored with. RA was an overpay. I'm not a fan of big contracts to 1 year wonders. Guys like BC, Tremble, and TMJ are hard to judge because they weren't used correctly IMO. I cant critique too hard on last year's draft except taking a LS over Smith. That was a boneheaded pick.

He cant make Rhule play the best guys in the best position or draw up an offense more complicated than pop warner. Its his job to find the pieces and he's done that fairly well besides the Darnold debacle but we don't really know who drove that bus off a cliff. I will say we paid too much in picks and the 5th year, I get why, but it backfired.  Right now, I give him a B-. Room for improvement but better than average I think.

I'm very skeptical of Fitterer and a lot of his moves but it's really hard to evaluate him when he is just a "Junior GM" to Rhule.

It will be interesting to see how Fitterer fares once Rhule is fired.

That even raises another question: who gets the bulk of the blame for an overpay?  Fitterer or Suleiman?  Suleiman is technically in charge of contract negotiations.  All these roles kind of blend together and muddy the waters.

Good point. We throw shade about the contracts but Suleiman is technically the guy hammering those out. We've even seen videos of him doing it on previous Panthers Confidential episodes.

Probably close to an even split would be my early prediction.

Agreed loved what we did in rounds 1 and 3 this year. Didnt like rounds 4,5 and 7. Mays could turn out to be solid

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
