    • I am also basing this off of the fact that he has gotten passed around like candy in his extremely short NFL career and the fact that he is largely a 3rd string QB at the moment. The reason they moved on and GOT Daniels was because they recognized he was not going to be a starting caliber QB. Don't forget that he was also part of what was acknowledged to be and almost entirely had been(minus Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy) one of the worst QB classes of the past 20 years. This same thing has happened to Winston recently(only 31) after years as a starter. Gets passed around from team to team each offseason and can't even beat Shell of Russell Wilson out as 2nd string QB. This is just the plight of true gunslingers in the modern era. I have discussed this ad nauseum on the Huddle for probably 4-5 years now. It hasn't changed over that timespan. I am fine with bringing them in to compete or be backups/3rd stringers. But you need to have a real QB plan.  If that is the primary plan, it's just going to lead to those 30-40% winning percentages that they come with.
    • Then he is a yes man and he can go, as well. He will never have success if he bows to the whims of a guy that knows less about football than 95% of the Huddle.
    • You're basing this off of one season as a starting QB?  The offensive line he had was terrible, yet he still threw for nearly 4000 yards.  He has a big arm.  Granted he has some faults but So did Darold, so did Mayfield but they changed.   Winston had several years of gunslinging as you say.  Howell had one season.  The only reason they moved on from him was falling into Daniels.  I think of everyone on this list Howell has as many good qualities as any.
