There is a report that our team publicly acknowledged that no one would trade for Darnold?  Do you mind sharing it?

Person talked about it in The Athletic shortly after the incorrect report from Ben Albright that we were looking to trade him.

Did he say that the team came out publicly about not being able to trade Darnold? That feels like national hit take stuff.  Just surprised we haven’t heard more about it.

i have the athletic subscription, I’ll just look it up. Thanks.

You know good and well teams don't make public statements on things like that.

That doesn't mean they don't know the reality.

Once again it’s not worth the possibility of some team trading for Darnold (because it will be a low pick and very little money they are taking on) to take away reps from our new starting QB this season. They need to either release/trade Sam or send PJ to the practice squad if they think Sam is our backup. Corral also needs reps because he is too valuable to stash on the PS so he is going to need to be able to semi-run our offense in case of injuries.

The same people as always...

This is all I could find from the team talking about Darnold and trade status

After practice, coach Matt Rhule said the team is not trying to trade Darnold.

“I haven’t had those conversations,” Rhule said. “We’re in the middle of a quarterback battle. I assume along with quarterback battles, things like that are going to be said. But nothing has been said to me by Scott or anybody that we’re in that.”

so im curious what you saw, can you paste it?

Our resident Ellises (John and Williams) and others, Person included, have commented (repeatedly) that trading Darnold would be extremely difficult because of his cap hit, game tape and the situation around the league.

Basically, everybody knows this, including the team...unless they're delusional.

    • That’s not a bad idea at all. I was really liking the whole cali-style carne asada. We might do that next week instead of enchiladas for the rams. Was planning on: Saints-Gumbo Tampa-Cuban Sandwiches Seattle- Salmon Stew Tampa- Seafood Boil
    • I agree, honestly you can not trade a player that has Balls talent. Just sitting in street clothes FOR years, it doesn't matter if you are averaging 50points on 88% with 18 rebs, 15 asst, 4 stls if you never can play. These are the worst type of players, teasers. Its HIS JOB to get his body in NBA shape and he has proven that he can not. Thus you break the rule about trading top shelf talent. Hell NBA need to have NFL contracts where the full sum isn't guaranteed, you bet your ass if his money was tied to his playing on the court he'd somehow figure out how to stay healthy.   Plus Im a old head, I member when Seth Curry in his 17(Jesus..) year career had ankle problems and guess what, he solved the issues and got all the money, championships, and fame. Ball doesn't have the same drive to figure out his body, he'd rather drive his car on kids feet while rushing home to drive his go-cart on the roof of his condo after missing his 42nd game of the season.....
