“Most improved player on the roster this year”

Those were the words from Kevin Donley (former Panther OL and current sideline reporter) when talking about Brady Christensen.  Just now on Kyle Bailey’s afternoon show on WFNZ.

Also seems to really like Ikem.  Really glowed talking about Ikem and Christensen lined up beside each other at LT and LG.

- lastly was watching ESPN this afternoon.  And one of their shows was really digging into the Bears awful OL.  Then they showed a stat from last year.  And Browns OL last year gave up the 2nd or 3rd highest pressure pct only ahead of the Bears last year (yes even worst than our statistically).  So much for the idea that the Browns had this superstar team and Baker held them back last year.  Dude set rookie records year 1, top 10 QB year 2, hurt playing on an overrated roster year 3.

This is great to hear.  If LT and LG are shored up, it just makes things very smooth for everyone whether we have to rebuild, retool, or continue whatever we're doing with Rhule.

The one big IF is if Baker clicks, we're suddenly a head coach and 2 playmakers (Offensive skill & DL) away from contending.

We're stepping close to being respectable again.

Yeah if we can get some protection on the blind side any QB back there will have an easier season....

If all your assumptions pan out I think it’s just DL. We have elite offensive skill weapons. CMC and DJ are as good RB/WR1 combo you’ll find in the NFL and Robbie is a legit 2

    • Some people have been beaten down so long they have no standards. Can't be reasoned with.
    • Getting better, might be fairly charitable. We finished 1-3 with the pressure on. That is for sure not trending up.  I don’t see a clear run of performances that prove he has taken it to another level. Not yet.  I would say he played really well in the WC game. And folded on that last series where we still had a chance. I think he threw one good ball. That last series is the kind of thing a player is supposed to learn from and not repeat. We have to see him do it before we can credit him for doing it.    I would also say he has not done enough of playing at his ceiling and what we should expect as the game in game out norm is still not established.  We gonna get MNF in SF or we gonna get the WC game? Seattle or Atlanta yardage record?   Besides that he has three years of horrendous play to start the season hanging over him. Are we going to get that again or will he be over that? We can’t know that. Mind you, that isn‘t two of three it is three of three he has yet to play well to start the year as a pro. Ofer.    So, many questions remain.    As far as weapons and help… said it before. Fix the OL so we can protect him.  It is time for a 1.1 pick in his 4th season, third year in the same offense, to elevate the players we have given him. You can’t keep up the level of investment dedicated to propping him up, you have to prop up the defense too and get some balance.
    • Yeah, just got back to the house from doing some actual work, hopefully they create some better chances in the second half. 3-1 looks tough for you
