I mean honestly we keep 9 oline at most. and our top 9 aren't bad. You're likely looking at Elflein and Jordan rounding out the 8/9 spots on that list. I don't think that Daley or Brown make the roster. I also think there's a better than average chance we can upgrade from other teams cuts.

Jordan sucks ass too 😞

Why are we quickly writing off Bozeman after a single game of preseason? Players can have rough games , they’re human. I don’t get it. It’s not like he’s out here costing us Super Bowls with poor blocking. The line will be fine. The ground work has been placed. Rock steady pro bowl RT, super bowl winning RG, C from a team that calls for a premium at every OL spot, 6th overall pick on a pure bully of a LT (although he does need to work on balance, but he’s a rookie, let him have that time), and at LG you’ve got an underplayed player that people have been saying is most improved- with a well renowned OL coach.

I sincerely don’t get this doom and gloom. We need more glass half full going on in this fanbase.

I'm not sure that saying that Mays could be our future at C is writing Bozeman off. I feel like this thread is a positive thread, so I'm not sure why you're confused. I'm assuming Bozeman is going to start, but he's just looked average to me so far, but average is obviously better than what we've had recently. I just think that Mays has the potential to surplant him in the near future. I don't understand why you feel that's a negative.

Not the entire thread but I’ve noticed in other threads and some comments on here that poof- Bozeman is done. I’m actually also really high on Mays too. Wondered why his draft stock dipped like it did.

He's was a guard forced to play tackle on a bad Tennessee team with a bad offensive scheme and missed some time due to injury.

Out of sight out of mind. Bozeman is hurt so he's out of sight and out of mind.

Mays is a bright spot in an otherwise clusterfug of bad depth in Jordan, Daley, Brown, Elflein, Tecklenburg, Horton, and Erving.

depth almost completely across the board is this teams biggest weakness, but at least this team looks like it could field starter quality players at every position for once.

It's pretty obvious what we're doing with our o-line. This is more of a run blocking o-line built for CMC. The plan is probably to play action pass to CMC once he gets going, and then throw out of that. We're going to try to maul teams with monsters like Ickey and Moton, and in the middle we'll use violence pulling like you saw in the clip in this thread. That can lead to injuries but also set CMC on fire for big gains. Smashing into guy leading with your head and going flying to the turf does not make for a long career, put it that way.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
