He didn’t look good and then got hurt like he did throughout college. He needs to get healthy and add some weight to his frame to compete next year. You are obsessing over him like you were with Strong.

No even with all that he's worth more and plays better than all of them. Facts.

Fake competition.

The other guys are proven to be unable to cut it ultimately. You expect different?

With Corral you at least had a chance. That's gone.

And Corral has proven he wasn't ready by most beat reporters who watch practice every day..

I know you were covering your ears.. But Newton, Person and Council have been saying for weeks that Corral was looking lost and having problems getting the offense.. Even Matt himself blamed going to Ole Miss as a reason for transition problems..

Did you not see any of this??

Sam,Baker,PJ you'd be hard pressed to get someone to trade for any of them. Facts.

Corral would take just a couple phone calls, you'd probably get phone calls.

That's it in a nutshell dum dums.

Making up poo again. What do you think we could trade an injured late 3rd round QB who has looked like the worst of his class so far for? The only advantage he has has a cheap contract. He is a project QB so calm down and let’s see what he has in the long run.

So NOT playing helps. Less reps. Riding the pine, the Aaron Rodgers method.

A. We ain't winning nothing, not with that guy in charge.

B. We aren't the Packers and Baker Mayfield isn't Brett Favre.

C. And Matt Corral isn't Aaron Rodgers..

D. If Corral did play.. We would be drafting his replacement next year.. New coach new QB..

He did play and got hurt..

Read this again..

YOU WANTED HIM TO GET PLAYING TIME!!

He got hurt doing what you wanted.. smh

IMO the timing suggests otherwise. Seems like we wanted to assess where Corral was in his development to see if he could legit compete for the job and when it was clear he was nowhere near ready then we shifted gears to go get Mayfield.

Eh, we were targeting mayfield even before the draft back in March. I think the timing and behind able to walk away for a bit got the browns to cave on the salary aspect which was clearly a hang up from our side.

although we could both be right to a certain degree I think getting Baker here was a goal before we even had Corral.

Refusing to draft and develop a QB will be Matt Rhules downfall. He had his chance. He ignored him. You need full speed reps WITH guys you have chemistry with hopefully guys that can make an NFL roster. Matt Rhule was throwing to future car salesman. Just saying. A lot of drops. Put those drops on his stat sheet you'd be singing a different tune.

Unless Baker balls this year and we re-sign him, we are back in the QB market next draft.  There's no way we can depend on Corral now that he's shelved for a large portion of the season to be QB1 beyond this year.

That seem to be the plan all along..

That's what really messed up for him. No wonder Cam didn't want anything to do with this "situation". Wise.

Totally wasted pick. Wasn't valued. Gave his best, which most of us know is better than these guys, wasn't allowed to compete.

We all knew Corral had absolutely no chance starting for Matt Rhule. We all knew before the season used car salesman preferred a car with more miles, character, squeeks, smoke... sometimes, just run it!

That's why Operation Golden Corral was satire. Our HC ISN'T Bill Belichick. We all knew that, opposite.

I agree. We'll be looking for a top pick. It's a Matt Rhule promise.

Deep QB draft this year.  People will get all caught up focusing on Stroud and Young.  We won't be bad enough to get either of them and I'm fine with that.  The next tier beyond those two is considerably deep.  It's hard to say exactly at this point because the season hasn't started yet, but it could be as many as 4-5 guys with a mid-late first round grade.

    • I get it's subjective and I said "PFF rated him as" one of the top deep ball passers during that time, which is an accurate statement.  They are still a group of professionals that look at film and data in order to make their judgements/ratings.  These people whose data has been incorporated into a lot of teams' staffs view Bryce's deep throws as some of the best in the league during that stretch.  That tells me that he can probably throw a deep pass vs the Huddle's version of he is small and didn't do it his rookie year so he must not be able to.  That and literally seeing him do it just makes me feel he is more than capable of doing so.   Do you think PFF is skewing their opinion to prop up a QB in a bottom tier franchise?  It's just another group's opinion and I feel is pretty respected around the league currently.  It's not the gospel truth or anything.
    • I still remember how happy I was that gettlegut was not the GM once he picked Jones, that was a firing pick and well..... If not for the raiders drafting Clelin Ferrell, it was the biggest draft day mistake in the last 20 some years.
    • He had 251 passing yards. 3 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. All in all a very impressive game. Problem is I do not envision his rushing ability translating like that over the course of the upcoming season. Yeah it will be something to account for from time to time but one it's not sustainable and two you don't want to put his durability to the ultimate test against a motivated defender willing to take a penalty and a fine. And plus with our backfield. Two 1k yard rushers. That's what they're here for. Then we have a much improved WR room. That means Bryce has to elevate those passing numbers substantially. The fact of the matter is regardless of circumstances it did take him 23 games to surpass Kyle Allen's single season passing yardage from 13 games in 2020. And that is not a high bar by any means. Whatever QB tier Bryce ends up in from here amongst his peers this upcoming season when it's all said and done it will be with his arm.
