That's a Matt Carrol or better release, damn!

I'm already on the Levis bandwagon but wow!

yeah the force he has behind that ball without leveraging his lower body while still having a release than clocks less that a third of a second.... its pretty insane. That is an example of your prototypical elite arm talent.

Corral's is tight and quick, what you see with Levis is like an assassin of the football yielding a laser sword down the pants of a greek god.

Levis is a big boy that can move with a cannon of an arm. I nabbed him at +2000 to go 1st overall before the season.

He hasn’t done anything special this season but some team will fall in love with his tools.

Just like Richardson if he declares. He’s fun to as hell to watch and has all the tools you just can’t teach

Yeah his back leg is never compromised.  He was full control of his upper body with a really smooth hip rotation.  Left hand is always finishing on the target with his right in his back pocket.  I've seen him lose that discipline/get some jitters at times, but when he is on, it is fire.  The Allen comparison make sense when you combine that arm & upper body strength.  He actually has a bit less to work on than Allen accuracy wise, but needs to get a better cadence and rhythm going in games.

His daddy and grandpa were QBs if I read correctly. Lineage. Legacy QB

I'd suggest the Oregon game to get a feel.  Also, prepare for the Coug Raid offense.

Just watched the highlights of Ward in this game. I am not going to lie, I am not jumping on the Cam Ward hype train. The kid is out of control and the OC for the Washington st has built an offense around him that takes the thinking out of the position.

That being said, he is looks like he is a lot of fun to watch.... i just cant see that translating to the pros.

note: the stats are misleading, 2 of his TDs were from hands that were in front of him. Majority of the play designs were screen plays. Actually, a very fun offense to watch

I am going to keep my eye on that Ferrel kid... he might be a late round find

That's the thing, it's the Coug offense, he's not even dropping back, just throwing something immediately most of the time.  It's why you have to watch the greater games for the drop backs and his pocket awareness when he's really needing to throw and not following their offensive script.

I speak to their running ability yes.  Pocket maneuverability & mobility matters.  Running ability can be an added plus (but depends), but of course, what can they do above their d*ck and between their ears is the most important.

But don't come in here with the whole 1999 running QB vs. pocket argument.  Just stop while you're ahead.

First

Nobody wants a running QB. That's not a 1999 argument. That's a dawn of time to end of time argument. They don't win championships period.

Second being able to run from the pocket when necessary is fine. Allen Mahomes Young and on and on. But a QB that can consistently deliver the ball from the pocket on time to the right guy accurately will win more than he loses.

    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
