Brock Purdy and why we don't need to draft a 1st round QB

And? Hurts fits in Lamar and Brees’ group of guys who feel due to size or worry about them being run only. Those guys are sometimes around late 1st or early second. That said, there’s a lot fewer Hurts running around than recent first rounders.

Does #1 pick Kyler Murray fit that mold?

Hurts was a 3rd rounder FYI, like Corral.

Also, it's just a gif, breath.

You literally said this. That’s what my post was about. You said it’s far more likely to win with a guy like Jake than hoping to draft another Cam. That statement is completely false. Brady is the exception to the rule in the last 20 SBs and he was drafted 23 drafts ago. Taking the GOAT out of it, 1st round QBs win more SBs (they have 3 more than Brady) and make up more of the SB losers as well.

It is far easier to make the SB by picking a QB in the 1st. Outside of the miracle pick of Brady, it’s a shot in the dark to make the SB with a non first rounder. Heck, we’d give up a ton to have Allen, Lamar, Herbert, Lawrence and maybe even Tua right now and none of them have made a SB. Some of them probably will.

Man I hate message boards sometimes. Just a bad way to have a discussion.

Basically what has happened is one or both of the following:

1. I wasn’t clear enough with what I wanted to say, and didn’t give enough detail/context.

2. You read too fast or missed/skipped around while thinking of your response.

I don’t think we really have that much of a disagreement, and if this convo was over a beer, it would have taken 5 minutes to understand each other 😂.
