He was already under contract for the 2022 season. What's courageous about honoring the last year of a deal that you signed after you refused a generous contract extension?

I don’t know. You should ask owners and team front offices that question when they just up and cut players.

If they’re able to do that, I see no issue with a player using the little power they do have to get the contract they feel they deserve.

Didn’t they make a couple of solid offers that he turned down because he wanted more money and a fully guaranteed contract. How is this entirely on the Ravens?

Your neighbor sold his house for $450k

your house is way nicer, larger, etc, in the same neighborhood, you going to accept $375k?

 No you’ll be demanding $500k

thats what Lamar did and rightfully so, people calling him a loser/quitter shows you the lack of understanding basic economics

Knew that narrative would come. Lamar was generous to even suit up for them to start the year, knowing he was trying to get the big contract. Once he got a scare, he was smart to shut it down. Other NFL players agree.

Every play in the NFL is a risk. If he did not want the contract they were offering and was worried about his future, he should have sat out the year instead of collecting a check and and then leaving the team in a bad situation at the end of the year.

lol at “quit on his team”

I’d love Lamar, and would be willing to part with 2 1sts,  but anything more, I’m ok with going the draft route. Willing to give up a bit more to move up in the draft

Some of that narrative is coming from players, Michael Vick for one.

That team wouldn’t even be in the playoffs if he sat out the year. Lol at leaving them in a bad position.

Every play in the NFL is a risk, indeed. That’s the reason he’s sitting out. He wouldn’t get the contract he’s looking for if he had an injury that went into the next year.

I’d love to have Lamar, if you watched the Saints game you’d realize that when he’s ‘on’ there’s literally no defense that can stop him

If the Ravens want to be mad, be mad at the Haslem’s who screwed up the QB pay market but if BAL flinches there’s PLENTY of Billionaires who will make Lamar a 1/4 Billionaire. He puts fans in attendance

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
