Yes coaching matters but people saying that hoping for Bryce Young to have a Russell Wilson level career would be foolish because of his last year in Denver. Like I said id love to have the Seahawks trophy case than ours since 2012

Then you want Pete Carroll, not Russell Wilson. They won a SB riding Beast Mode and elite D. They lost a SB trying to transfer the star power from Beast Mode to Wilson.

Yeah that’s elite QB play for a long period of time if you wouldn’t take that here your dreaming

I'm not saying that it's not. Now if you'll go and have a peek at Geno's career stats you'll understand my point.

Geno Smith put up Russell Wilson stats this year in Seattle. Russell Wilson put up Geno Smith stats this year in Denver.

They lost a Super Bowl calling a dumb play. They likely wouldn't have been in either without Russell Wilson.

His SB seasons were two of his worst statistical seasons as a Seahawk.

Based on how he looks in Denver and how Geno looked in Seattle, I'm willing to bet a lot of guys could've had Wilson's career under Pete Carroll.

Geno Wilson has not and likely never will look like Russell Wilson in his prime. Let's not conveniently forget the fact that Wilson is 34 years old. It's very understandable if his play has diminished, but I think it's kind of foolish to throw dirt on him because of one bad season.

I think Wilson is more than just Carrol for sure but if you put Geno's year this year against Wilson's career it would look like one of Wilson's typical very good years. While Wilson this year hasn't looked great alone, I think he's likely to bounce back to being at least a decent starter...

      since I agree with him I will jump in and say we don’t use the TE enough to value one as a 1st. One of these threads just today people are posting pointing out that Bryce can’t see the middle of the field which is where a lot of TE eat. He likes to throw picks there too, I wonder why (can’t see). It just doesn’t help us that much.  And personally, just my opinion, Bryce has had enough top level investment dedicated to the pass game. Get a speedy WR later? I am fine with it and think that is all we really need anyway. Another 1st round pick? Hell no if I get to say. Which I don’t but no one else does either    As far as a TE, a pass catching RB would be of more use than a TE I think. We visited with one I think maybe Sr Bowl, that was a WR in school u til just this year when they switched him to RB full time. A guy like that could be put to a lot of use on these little 5 yard passes Bryce is so fond of throwing,  It is just past time to put some real talent into the defense for once and I want our top picks to focus there, personally. I would say unless we have a situation like last year where the difference in pure value is stark, I am pissed if we pass on a quality defensive player for another pass catcher.
