The NFL is Rigged

A guy on YouTube pointed this out last year after the Rams won the SB. I didn't list everything, but these are the 4 things that jumped out on his video.

2020 season

A team (Tampa Bay) acquired the biggest QB on the market: Tom Brady

Same team acquired a talented/controversial WR during the season: Antonio Brown

Same team happened to have SB at the home stadium: Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Same team did not have home field advantage but advanced to SB to win it all.

2021 season

A team (Los Angelas) acquired the biggest QB on the market: Matt Stafford

Same team acquired a talented/controversial WR during the season: OBJ

Same team happened to have SB at the home stadium: SoFi Stadium in LA area.

Same team did not have home field advantage but advanced to SB to win it all.

----

Coincidence or something else 🤔

So basically your fan fiction version should be treated as fact and basic facts should just take a back seat on this one. If this happens, why haven’t the Jets, Giants, Bears been more successful. That would increase viewership, clicks, everything more than any teams. The owners not interested in those millions of fans?

Which league is on top. Where are all these documented players who have been proven to throw games?

Well, again, everything you say can’t happen…..has happened in sports.   And man driven corruption is literally everywhere and always where the money is.  Again, something well documented.

your argument is basically that somehow the NFL alone is immune to all this…..just because.  Therefore is fan fiction.   The NFL is on top of the world.  Well, all the other sports have been too.  Baseball corrupt.  Boxing corrupt.  NBA.  College football.  Everyone.  Well, except the NFL.   It’s pure.

take something else.  College football.  All the allegations of paid players.  Meh,  that’s just rumors.   They would all admit it if it was wide spread.   It’s not really happening like that. Well, they largely never did admit it. Well, until later.  Now they do.  Now they frankly will tell the most absurd stories.    Which is generally how it goes.  The mob didn‘t get into the NBA in 2007.   It had been there for decades.   One day the NFL will have their moment I assume.   Money does tend to keep folks quiet for some time.  We have seen that.

fan fiction is pretending there is no corruption where there is so much money IMO.  Because that never happens.   NFL isn’t special.

it’s not every game.  But yeah, NFL games get messed with.  All sports do.  Who knows which ones.  Part of the fun I guess.

A funny quote I saw in an article after last nights game.  Also a reason I'm glad we went with an offensive coach lol

"That is what the owners want, $40 million skill players flopping on the ground, drawing fouls from [part-time officials who double as] chemistry teachers, medical device salesmen and the like," an NFC defensive coach told Mike Sando of The Athletic.

I asked for any examples and you went with this….again. What’s more likely. Your conspiracy theory full of hypotheticals, or maybe guys making millions don’t need to throw games. As widespread as you think it is and nothing offered as proof but your mind. You can, and have assumed whatever you want in regards to this.

And now it just certain games that you can’t tell but just know….right? And your proof is all money is corrupt. So it must be true. Don’t know how to argue with fantasies. As someone already has stated ITT.

I have given plenty of examples of it occurring in sports.  Over and over.  Sport to sport.  It's a constant.  Essentially inevitable.   You continue to dismiss that well documented fact as somehow irrelevant when talking about this topic.

lol.  I never said it was every game nor would I imply such.

all sports are dirty.  and the NFL doesn't even claim to be a sport.  It claims to be entertainment. Why?  Because they know there is too much liability in claiming to be that with all that can potentially occur.

You think the NFL is uniquely pure.  Cool.  I don't.  I think it is just like everything else.  We disagree.

Name one you mentioned. I brought up the NBA ref. You haven’t given me an example of a player/coach/ referee who has done anything. Just this might happen and this could happen. Where in between all those is your examples. Just because it is “inevitable” in your head doesn’t mean it’s true. And sports is a form of entertainment.

   Disagree as usual.

Yeah, my bad I got a family and stuff. I've been checked out for the last 5 years. Still a diehard, just more meh about it these days.

If my measurements as a Carolina panther fan is all I fall short on in life I'm ok with it. Carolina has fell short on many promises too.

Bruh these are references from like 7-8 years ago.

Okay.

NBA - we already did that one.  Which you can't really dismiss like you do as just a one time incident.  Unless your argument is the mob only opted to participate in that one singular sport and only that one ref?  Which seems like a really bad argument.

Soccer (overseas) - huge scandal about a decade or so ago.  Tons of fixed games

MLB - Black Sox obviously, we also could get into the entire shady as fug steroid era if you wanted, and probably a host of other shady stuff in baseball.   The blind on eye for some for ratings is definitely influence.

College Basketball - Boston College - point shaving.

NFL simple hasn't had it moment in the sun.  You can however find former NFL commissioners talking about point shaving.  The concerns of it.   How it is a legit worry.   And if they have said it openly.....it is easy to figure out why it is called entertainment and not sport.  Because corruption finds it way into sports.  It always does.   And the big money and powers that be do their best to never let the public know anything.  Remember the Spygate tapes they destroyed lol?  Who needs to know what was one those. Obviously, that is another topic but it speaks to the great lengths they will all go to keep things as quiet as possible.

Sports is and will always be a dirty business.  Simple as that.  Too much money involved for it not to be.  And yeah, human history across basically all areas of life proves it largely is inevitable in terms of existing.  How much it happens? Who knows.

But we know factually one ref can alter a game.  Super Bowl refs that have blown games have admitted the power to award the wrong team a win. And we know all the refs are just part time employees.  You telling me folks with money can't get to the right person?  There hasn't been guys they have been able to get to over the years?  I mean, that in reality is one of the weakest tin foil hat conspiracies that ever existed.  I can come up w/ much bigger and better ones than that.  Actually being able to pin point when it happened? Probably not.

European soccer: like every sport over there, they’re openly corrupt. What European pro league isn’t bent.

A baseball team from over 100 years ago? And steroids? What specific teams benefitted from them being legal. Those all players trying to get better. Not throw games.

A college (not Pro) basketball scandal from 40+years ago. What were those players making on BC on regular salary. Like Pros have.

And nothing about the NFL? But it’s definitely going to happen because….reasons. That makes sense.

I Will Say This:   As a life long fan of 'Rassling' - I am 53 now.  Grew up on Jim Crockett NWA.  Then ... about 10 years ago, McMahon e-x-p-o-s-e-d the 'Business' to prevent losing Millions in a law suit.   He said:  the "Outcome" is PREdetermined.   I've since learned; the Wrestlers 'call the match' to get to that end.  The 'Refs' (in Wrestling) wear an Ear Piece.  The 'Control Room' feeds them info during the match.  They tell the Wrestlers when to prolong or 'wrap up' a match.  if one of the wrestlers is (legit) injured;  the Ref has hand signs he makes to alert the Back.  It is A-l-l a "Work".

The NFL is registered as "Single Entertainment Corporation".   That means:  At the end of the season - whether a team went 14-3. or 1-16 -  All the O-w-n-e-r-s split the "Profits".  It is a Fraternity of 32.  In late  November (just before playoff season) they have the Owners Winter Meeting.    Think they might be Deciding Something?  When a Jets fan some years ago sued the NFL for 185M because of the Patriots/Jets  'Spygate' and game outcome (google it) ... The Courts ruling was:

"At best, he possessed nothing more than a contractual right to a seat from which to watch an NFL game between the Jets and the Patriots, and this right was clearly honored,"  Cowen (the Judge) wrote.

Basically .. He got No Money.  Yet in November 2014, a story appeared on:  empirenews.net:  "NFL Admits Games, Off-Field Drama Are All Pre-Determined, Scripted Events" (google is your friend).   Won't say how much of this article is Valid or True.  I do not know!  But It May Cause One to Ask More Questions.  You know:  Like the lottery being 'Random'.  39-40 States.  Over 150M people playing.  B-u-t ... for 30-35 weeks ... No One has the winning numbers?   No One?  And most people play more than 1 number.  But the lottery is Not Controlled.  And neither is the NFL.  And neither is Rassling.  And neither is the Stock Market.  And neither is Hollywood.  And neither is Main Stream Media.   It All Just Happens by Coincidence 🤣

    • I like Willie Drew (CB, Virginia State) as well.  He is a lock for the PS with a shot at the roster.
    • I like this kid--he will make the roster.  However, he said that his sophomore year was the first playoff game in school history. Incorrect.  Western Carolina beat them in the FCS playoffs many years ago.
