Carr’s destination betting odds

I'll just say I wouldn't hate it if we picked Carr up. I'm a fan and it would help us focus the draft on getting an upgrade at WR, TE, and/or CB.

He'd be more expensive than a rookie, but we'd come out of the gates a lot quicker, we'd have a really good QB with a huge chip in his shoulder, and we wouldn't have to give up any draft capital to get him.

Basically I'm good if we draft one of the top 3 or if we pick Carr up.

I just don’t see this team making the Super Bowl with Carr. He had some really bad games in 2022 and while some of that may be on the team him throwing 3 INTS against the Steelers when the Raiders needed to win that game has me worried we will pick up a QB that can possibly get us to the playoffs but not the Super Bowl.
Carr is gonna want a long term deal and I don’t feel good about giving a 3 or 4 year deal to a QB that isn’t that impressive and will need a really good team around him to be successful.
Carr is more Cousins than Stafford, imo.

This is almost assuredly the discussion Reich's coaches and Tepper are having at the moment.

Hopefully Tepper shows patience and realizes this team has tried this reclamation QB stuff 3 years and in a row and has yet to work out.

"We should draft Marcel Dareus instead of Cam Newton."

If the Panthers were holding the first pick in this year's draft, I'm almost certain they'd be picking a QB.

Unfortunately, they're sitting at 9 and moving up to #1 would likely cost more draft capital than a team with so many needs can afford to give up.

What needs? #2 DE? #2 CB? #3 WR? TE?

Which of those needs are holding us back more than not having a QB is?

Carr is MUCH better than Darnold and Mayfield. He's also better than Teddy Bridgewater.

We should still pass on signing him and DRAFT A fuging FRANCHISE QB!

I agree. But maybe they do both at least.  My left testicle says this is probably going to happen.

Carr is at an entirely different level than any of the QBs that have played for the Panthers during the last 5 years.  He isn't top five, but given a decent defense he is in the top 10-12 range.

This is going to happen isn't it? It makes too much sense not to.

I think one of big things on the table is the current NFC south QB group. Whoever lands Carr has the best QB in the division, by far.....no matter the feelings of haters.

Ive thought for over 2 months, 4 QBs will be drafted in the first 8 picks.....Carr doesnt cost draft picks..... Plus Irsay just f'd up and gave away the farm about colts QB plan.

Carrs deal could be in the "cheap rebuilding my self vein" or it could be a tepper flexer........(TM)

Carr is Cousins level. Meaning he shrinks during big games and often commits terrible mistakes at the worst of times or just disappears from the game entirely. If that is what the team wants then so be it. At least we’ll make the playoffs but always get beat in the playoffs. Vikings of the NFC South.

    • Rico walking is no big deal. I'll take a healthy 2024 Hubbard over Rico any time and losing Mays is, again, no a big deal.  Young is signed for what, $35M for the next two years? Say he wants $50M but the FO doesn't. If they put the franchise tag on him, that would be around $55? So basically they are getting Young for the next 3 years for an average of $30M per year. Putting the franchise tag on him wouldn't be my first choice but it gives them an option that wouldn't be locking him into a long term, $50M contract. I'm not suggestion they do that. Just that the option will be there should they get to that point. Hunt is on a 5 year deal which is done in 28 so he either restructures or is gone anyway. Moton will be 35 by then and will either be gone or have diminished playing time. Neither of those players has anything to do with getting Young a contract. The O line is way overpaid anyway. Hopefully by the time they are gone, Freeling and Hecht will be developed and Ickey will be healthy. Young was benched his second year and only got his job back because Dalton was injured. Not sure how you can call that entitled. And I would NOT say putting a rookie QB on a team with no receivers, tight ends or O lineman and then being put with a coach who never wanted you and is fired mid season, is a definition of luck. As far as competition, no team is going to bring in competition for a QB picked first overall - especially given the capital that was given up to get him.
    • With apologies to Lady Cowboy fan, any day we can screw over the Cowboys is a GOOD day…
    • Been here since 2014ish. Good times. Its a shame Zod wont sell, it wouldnt take that much effort to get this place back into shape.
