Wow. Woke up this morning still buzzing.  The traffic parking and ADA accessible were major issues. That stadium is not easy for handicapped folks. With that being said, we had 57k people watching a hockey game together.   That in itself is amazing. Crowd was on fire. NC State is my family’s team(I’m App State) but I love how they incorporated NC STATE into the canes. From the band(boy that was cool) to the fly over.   This city loves this team and after last night, the NHL is on notice. My 3 stars of the game.

1. KK. THAT was easily his best as a hurricane on the biggest stage. 1 goal. 3 assist. Wow.
2. Freddie. Outside of getting bored and letting in that one softie. Dude literally stood on his head a few times. Can Ward esc  and he had an assist!

3. Rod. I know I know. How can a coach get it?  He had those boys playing loose. Fast and physical and disciplined.  WE dictated that game.

all and all great time. Caps had no shot from when the dog dropped the puck to when the caps tried going goon squad on us.

next up…the blues on Tuesday!

    • If they are going to trade up let it be in the 2nd round for Hill. But I don't like that idea either. What I would selfishly like to see happen is they take the Oregon safety in the 1st over the 3rd or 4th best ILB or OLB. Then see how round 2 shakes out. Take the linebacker with the 70's mustache in the 3rd and go from there. Production is the word you are looking for.
    • He was saying Ron hid when he was cut/traded whatever that was.  I get being resentful, and feeling like that was gutless.  He, and Ron, neither are from the ‘breaking up with someone in a text or email is okay’ generation. That avoidance is seen as a lack of character.  Talking about it on camera how many years later? Why? And it is all one sided he said she said stuff. As he is speaking I am thinking well I bet that ain’t the whole story.    Between this type of stuff and him cheating on the wife stuff some of his shine is wearing off.
    • I was very critical of Ron Rivera as a coach for a range of reasons. But Steve Smith has been playing the victim for years now and it's just not working anymore. We know for a fact that he was disgruntled from the moment we drafted Cam Newton because of his own ego. That says more about him than anything he could say about Rivera. And yes Ron Rivera had a lot of faults. No excuses for it. We were right to move on from him. But ultimately Steve Smith couldn't hold it together with that group the same as he struggled to hold it together under previous regimes. He needs to grow up and accept his own role in the last few years of his Panthers career because there are things he could and should have done differently the same as anyone else. Stop seeking to only shift blame to everyone else and evolve or just stop talking and fade away. This isn't helping anyone and it is certainly not helping his image.
