Panthers met with Hooker per report

I have been banging the Hooker drum for weeks, so I am a bit biased.

I believe so-called draft experts have him ranked much lower than scouts/ GMs. There's no way he gets out of the second round, and I wouldn't be surprised if a team traded up into the late first to grab him (I hope we are that team). The ideal scenario for me would be to trade down into the mid teens. The extra picks gained from that trade plus some of our current picks would allow us to move back into the late first to secure that 5th year option.

People comparing him to Malik Willis are just being lazy. They are not the same quarterback at all. He will use his legs, but he isn't dependent on them.

I view his age as a positive, as all the interviews I have seen he's come across very mature and humble. He just strikes me as someone you can trust to lead a team.

Hooker is less talented than AR? Based off of what? Stats? No. Hooker destroys AR in that. Height? No. Weight ... uh I guess? Potential ... that thing no one can gauge? Competition? Both played in the SEC.

Talent as in AR has a bigger arm he's more mobile, you know part of the reason he is ranked ahead of Hooker in the draft.

Get it now?

No, it doesn't. Taking Richardson with so little experience and rough performance based purely on speculated potential is well, just a bad idea.

Well when you wrong you’re wrong and you sir are wrong. But I am glad your okay being wrong.
Panthers are not gonna draft a QB in the second round. It is either first round or not at all.

I could see the Saints drafting him with that first they got from Denver for Sean Payton.

Then he is back on a 4 year deal as most people doubt Hooker will play this season and if it at all its past the halfway point

He probably needs to sit a year anyway, but this link claims he could be ready by training camp. I’m sure we will have a better idea as the draft approaches.

May be ready for what?  100%?   Statements like that are vague for the sake of being vague.  A team would absolutely be nuts to roll him out there at the start of the season.  ACL are no jokes no matter what hooker says.  thats a 9 month minimum injury

He tore it Nov 19th. So 9 months puts him in August. I wonder if he can throw without contact before then? It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

For sure but I still will say no team is trotting him out there until late in the season if even then so it’s essentially a redshirt year.   That may fit another team’s timetable but it sure as hell doesn’t fit ours.

I’m just thinking if he can practice throwing with the team for training camp, maybe he can get some real game time midseason which isn’t bad for a rookie QB.

Be that as it may are you burning a 2nd on him?   I’m not and we already have a developmental qb from the 3rd.  Imo he should be off our draft board
