Prediction: Panthers get #3 pick before the draft, still will get #1 pick during draft.

If you trust the Draft Value charts then #9, #39, and 2024 2RD should be enough to get to #3.  As much as I hate losing the picks if we can get Stroud there I am all in.  I just don't want us spending 3X 1RD picks+ for the top....such an overpayment when the expected value of Stroud vs Young is slim.

That appears to be giving up more to move up and it doesn't benefit the Bears as they get less picks.

They get a first for dropping to 3 and still taking the player they would have taken at 1 anyway. Might be more appealing than getting an extra first and second but missing out on the player they want and having to settle for their second or third or fourth choice.

Sounds too much like fantasy football moves. The Panthers either want the 1st pick or they stay put for now. Come draft time that may change but it appears that for now the winds are blowing towards Carr being a target as the vet option. After that who knows?

Looks like Carr is going to the Saints

Cost to get #1 pick from #9: 3 first

Cost to get #3 pick: 2 2nd's and our first this year and prob a little more. but no first round pick

Cost to get #1 pick from #3 pick: 1 first and #3 pick

No one is talking about this, getting the #3 pick gets us the most leverage, even if Chicago wants to play hardball we can tell them to kick rocks we'll take any of the top 3.

muh sources

    • Only thing I really see it doing is possibly making Tepper listen if a different play caller can't run the offense because of limitations. New hire, someone who hasn't been watching Bryce for the past 3 years up close may be able to talk some sense if he sees that he isn't able to get the job done.

    • Not sure there is anything that will do that outside of Young actually being a legit top 12 QB. Where he won’t need excuses made for him.  It is just as likely to multiply them.
