Here’s Vonn’s contract breakdown

They’re accounting for 20 mill combined next season. Vonn will get restructured if he performs well for sure.

Not a fan of Tuttle’s deal at all. 10 mill for a mediocre rotational piece isn’t ideal

View Tuttle as our starting NT and one of our top space eaters to free up everyone else. He was a key cog in that Saints defense and will pair up nicely with Brown on our DL.

I think they see him as a NT primarily in 3-4 or DT in 4-3.

Brayvion Roy actually played quite well last year and can play NT also. Both are good run stoppers.

Henry Anderson (guy who had mini stroke last year) is also good against the run and can play DE in a 3-4. Not sure if he's under contract though

I've been wondering about this and could not remember seeing Shy play. That happens sometimes with NT kind of guys, not a lot of glory there.

Here's hoping we can do it. Still would love to see us pick up Mazi in the mid-draft.

He our starting NT not a “rotational player” (of course every linemen rotates in and out of that’s what you are referencing.) Very low cap his this season and next year we have an out after year 2 which is when we have so much more cap room which would be 2 years 14 million and average of 7 million per season. It’s a very solid deal overall and he’s still young, and one of the ether run defenders in the league.

On paper it sounds good but we’ll see. It’s a lot of money given his role and what he’s done so far during his career.

I realize half this board will like any move no matter what but next year is going to be a big year for us. Year 2 for our rookie QB contact, you can start making some splashy signings/trades to gear up for a run. Tuttle accounting for 10 isn’t ideal.

    • With Schoen and Dan Morgan being tight I’d figure we knew this was coming and since he is released, Dan didn’t bite.    But, a quick search says this is at least 80% cap related. They have No cap space and save 8 or 9 million with releasing him.  He has been a captain his entire time there. 145 tackles this year.  They are picking 5th with a new staff and looking at Styles. Hitting that age 30 season and had a disc issue last year (meaning 2024) that did not require surgery.  I haven’t really watched him play but he activated the antennae.
    • OK, we are letting our top RB go.  We have Chuba, Etienne, and Brooks.  Imagine a player who could LEGITIMATELY play the slot and back up at RB?  I am sure he'd be a special team player as well.  I noticed him at the combine, and thought, "Here is a late rounder who could stand out as a slot and provide depth at RB. Without further ado....(I know one Huddler who might be able to tell us more about this guy): Navy running back/wide receiver Eli Heidenreich headlined the 2026 NFL Combine for the Midshipmen, running an official 4.44-second 40-yard dash and recording 16 reps on the bench press. Recognized as a versatile, "Swiss army knife" offensive weapon, Heidenreich solidified his draft stock as a potential day three target.    Eli Heidenreich (RB/WR - Navy) 2026 Combine Performance: 6'0" 200 lbs.   40-Yard Dash: 4.44 seconds. 10-Yard Split: 1.55 seconds. Vertical Jump: 35.5 inches. Broad Jump: 10' 0". Bench Press: 16 Reps. Highlights: Showcased as a premier receiving threat from the backfield, having left Navy as the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (1,994). High character.  Smart.  Maybe, just maybe....
