Ivan pace jr.  5’11 231

Small but plays big .. Big heart big hitter big plays.. Not afraid to take on Guards or Tackles .. 4th to 6th round option because of size.. One of favorite players in this draft..

I feel like Pace would be getting more attention if he was bigger, I think he’ll have a solid career though.

AT Perry from Wake could wind up being a steal in the 3rd.

I love AT perry but after the signing that is 3 of the same type of WR on the roster then.. TMJ, Charlotte and Preston Williams are all similar body types to AT .. Plus AT doesn’t add any special team impact..

My Pace love is based on his pit bull mentality.. I’ve seen bigger players run away from Olinmen .. This dude is outweighed by atleast 100 pounds in those matches up and takes them on head up.. And wins !!

I honestly don't think that Chark and Thielen are going to dramatically alter our draft plans.  Chark is on a one year prove it deal to stay healthy. If he does, then a long-term deal is certainly possible. Thielen is a 33 year old stop gap. The draft should be about trying to find long-term solutions, not quick fix bandaids. Quick fix bandaids is what second and third tier free agency is about.

I can agree but I do think they want a contributor with the top 3 picks.. And at this point I don’t think AT can climb the depth chart.. Then he has no special team ability.. So your 2nd or 3rd round pick is barely getting a jersey on game day.. JMO

I think we want a contributor with #39 but with a late 3rd rounder you're reaching pretty hard to try to find an instant impact guy at most positions. I'd prefer to think longer term at that point.

Agree to disagree.. I think with all top 100 picks you should be looking for some kind of contribution.. Either battling for a starting spot in camp, or Special team starter or 3rd down specialist..  4th and 5th are for depth and future predictions moves..

The future could be now though. I mean, Chark has one helluva injury history.

That’s cool.. But you still have options.. We can do the same scenario for other positions and it looks way bleaker.. Burns get hurt, Jaycee gets hurt, We would be in horrible spot..

Sounds like drafting with desperation. Use cheap free agents for these things. There are still roster cuts to come.

I mean, if you're relying on a late 3rd round rookie to be forced into a starting role at a key position, you're probably already fuged anyway.

    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
