I've adopted a newborn kitten

I have a "mostly" Plott Hound who was the same way - she just loved those kittens and would get a bit too rambunctious with them.  I honestly believe she thinks she is the mother of the little male kitten we kept.  They sleep and play together and groom one another now.

The dogs are calming down enough I've been able to start introducing the kitty to them. They've never shown any aggression toward it but early on they were just too excited around it. It's getting normalized now.

Me and my present hound took an dog obedience class some years back - the instructor kept King Charles Spaniels and hers were certified in tracking missing people as well as finding cadavers,  sometimes in deep water from a boat.  She had some incredible stories - her dogs actually helped locate the burial site of part of the crew of the USS Huron which was lost off the outer banks in 1877.  All by nose and extensive training.

She wouldn’t be from Holden Beach would she? I think she might have been a high school classmate.

Still doing great. It's starting to learn how to use the litterbox and starting to learn how to retract it's claws. As nice as the former is, the latter is an even more welcome development. 😂

lol.....you've been a good mama

Good to hear..   This kitten has gotten 3 pages of chatter..   Now you have to tell us it's  PANTHER NAME is..  Put some thought into it..   SIr Purr is taken..  but I'm sure you can buy the name like Bryce bought #9 ..

Really good pics..

I'm pretty sure this kitten,, in her rookie season will dominate and carry us to the Super Bowl,,  Just when we needed a little luck,,  it happens.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
