Casual fan?

Zion on court production can't be questioned. He's played like a allstar since he entered the league. The problem with Zion if off the court dude seems to only focus on eating and women.

You the only one here looking like a casual fan. First you crying about everyone here wanting Scoot over Miller and now you wanna trade the pick for a fat ass Zion who can't even get on the court.  Last thing this team needs is another Hayward 120 million dollar contract for a guy to play 40 games.

I said I prefer Miller over Scoot, but I would be happy with Scoot because I think both will be a star.

Also Zion and Hayward are not even on the same level as a player. If Zion gets healthy he is a franchise changer. Fat Zion was still putting up allstar numbers. You act like Zion is just another player.

I recognize the risk that comes with Zion. What im saying is if we have a chance to get that kind of talent we should pursue it. For all we know Zion may just want a change of scenery. Rumors have floated around that he wanted out of New Orleans the moment they drafted him.

Last time Zion was in shape he was in the Carolina's. Maybe he needs to be closer to home to his family to keep his mind straight and body right.

Agreed. I'm actually not wanting to sign Melo or Bridges.  Hayward's contract comes off the books the following year.  We could do two max contracts that year. This draft build a cheap young core then see who is available that year.

Once again Charlotte doesn't attract major FA's.

The best signing in franchise history has happened to be Gordon Hayward.

Melo is currently the best superstar potential player charlotte has a shot at.

Hayward might be the biggest name that has signed but with money factored in, I think Al Jefferson and David Wesley were much better signings.

And that should tell you just how bad we are at getting star FA's.

Big Al and David Wesley was the best we could do in our history. That's kind of embarrassing. Having money means nothing if you don't use it on star FA's.

It doesn't have to be "star" free agents.  We need to get mid tier guys or rising stars. Melo is a rising star but I am starting to doubt his ceiling. If he can't stay healthy and or his dad gets too involved in the process he could become a headache quick. We need to rebuild. If somehow We can field a young cheap core with better coaching then add key pieces in FA we could compete. Melo and Miller ain't it. Scoot and DeMar Rozen could be.

Demar DeRozan would be the biggest free agent signing in Hornets history. Unless someone wants to play with Melo...the hornets aren't getting big time NBA free agents. That's why currently the biggest signings franchise wise are AL Jefferson and Gordan Hayward.

Ya don't get rid of Melo unless he doesn't want to stay and you can get two first round picks for him in say 26/27.

Right now, he wants to re-sign with the Hornets.

Sounds like the pelicans want Scoot and the hornets threw Zion and Ingram out there

Very well could be!!  No telling how this will shake out but it could grow to multi team and a ton of players. Then again after Monday, they may really just want to make the pick but at least  we have options to improve  the team!!

    • Oh good lord Interest doesn't mean interest in making a bad trade to take the player, that's why I had such a long post, to accurately describe why those are two different things, but you don't like to listen to that stuff.  Being interested in a player doesn't live in a vacuum. It's very simple... there isn't a #1 draft pick type of grade on any of these QB's, if there was, we'd just take them.  You can't bluff a pick everyone knows you won't make, and trying to trade the pick is the CLEAR signal that you're not taking the QB. Just because the Raiders would have interest, doesn't mean they're going to bail us out of a situation we don't want to be in, they'd be smart about it and just sit put, let us take a non QB as we'd be telling the world we're not taking one just by trying to trade the pick, and then they'd take him at #2 (either with their own pick or by trading less to get that one). Oh, and your point of "if nobody is willing to make the trade, you obviously just take the best QB" is quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever read on here. If nobody is willing to trade up to take the QB, then it's OBVIOUS that the QB isn't worth taking with that pick, so OBVIOUSLY taking the best QB there is just OBVIOUSLY stupid and a bad pick. The moral of it is if there is a QB worth taking, we're taking them and not making the trade.  If there isn't a QB worth taking there, nobody is trading up to #1 to take one, we just showed the NFL how bad of an idea that is 2 years ago, it's really not hard to see. You keep making up this mythical situation where there is a QB who has shown to be worth trading up to #1 for and we'll be able to leverage that into a trade.  But we're the most QB needy team in the league, if we end up with the #1 pick, either we are taking a QB #1 or no QB is going #1 unless we get VERY lucky and two teams in the Top 5 fall in love with one prospect and we can play them off each other and fleece one of them. But again, I can't see that happening, as if there was a QB worthy of that, we're just taking him ourselves.
    • Sanders is with Tom Brady brand and that's his mentor. The Raiders owner was with Sanders taking pics at a Vegas game together.   It doesn't take much to connect the dots that Vegas will be interested in Sanders as their franchise QB. Oh yeah and guess who hasa small ownership stake in the Raiders Tom Brady.   I guess this is just another made up Madden idea by me huh?
    • Bro I don't mind debating you, but did you really have to write all that to get your point across.   This isn't Madden. If you have the #1 pick you literally control your own destiny. If nobody wants to trade which I have a hard time believing they won't then you obviously take the best QB.   I think we will have suitors. If that's Madden then so be it.
