I think we would make this deal personally.  If we like Miller it is close to a no brainer honestly, for them.  I would take Scoot personally but this deal would be pretty sweet

Yep, I  think after looking at things that Scoot has  a Mitchell type  game with more athleticism. Miller Simon's and 14 aint bad either. Interested to see how today's 1 vs 1 went/going and then the interview. Hopefully  something leaks out soon to give us an idea.

He should be the pick. They’ll pass on him and take the murder accomplice from Bama.

I think scoot ends up as a poor man Russell Westbrook, but a better team mate and team player. Thinking 20-27ppg, 6 rpg, 7 Apg, 2 stl.   While Miller ends up being a 20-27 ppg, 7rpg, 4apg, 2 stl, 1blk per game high tier 3 and d guy.

I say poor man because he's not quite as good all around as Westbrook was in his prime.

Which works if you want to keep Melo? Cause Melo is going to naturally have the ball in his hands 75% of the time....

I kinda want them to draft Scoot because I think it will be a disaster defensively and piss Clifford off so much. 😂

Bro Scoot is 19 lol. I don't know how you can watch his highlights and call the guy " A Poor Man's Westbrook". He's got the Clutch Gene.

Easily the best deal I have seen so far.

Simons/Miller is a hell of a get scoring and talent wise. Then we also get the #14 pick for added depth. Can't beat that deal.

Melo/Simons/Miller/Bridges/Williams is a young fun exciting team with a lot of scoring options.

Plus what you can get for rozier.

Not sure if you just started watching basketball but Brandon Miller has been a projected top 3 pick for 4 months now.

There are 3 stars in this draft he happens to be one of the 3.

Why so angry?

LOL

If you can't see the difference between Scoot and Miller, I'm sorry, you are helpless.

The only thing making this even a question is 'fit' which is dumb.

It's really not all that dumb if ya plan on keeping lamelo.

Lamelo is already bad at defending and ya gonna put a 6-2 player at sg next to him???

Ehhhhhh....

Plus shot selection / shot iq questions plus shooting questions in general.

yea he's athletic but he didn't exactly set the world on fire in the g league.

Let's draft the athletes and hope we can get them a jump shot... Usually doesn't work out well in the NBA.

With that said if you have Scoot rated higher you take him and hope lamelo learns defense and scoot can play with out the ball the majority of the time. Cause on the Hornets he won't be ball dominant.

If he tries to be, it will create problems and he won't see the floor.

If they are rated similar than you take Miller because of fit.

Apparently, all of us are dumb, because most mocks have us taking Miller.

Ya, you are. Scoot will be a perenial All-Star while Miller will be another Hornet disappointment. Time will tell, but the Hornets have are snake bit and ran by idiots.

Have to agree that watching film there is no question who the better guy is right now - Scoot clearly has the "IT" factor to be a superstar....the NBA is all about Superstars.  Miller is the better fit, but that is a distant 2nd in priority....2 guard teams can absolutely dominate.

Regardless of BPA or “fit”, we missed a chance to acquire more assets in addition to Miller.  That’s disappointing.

If you can’t convince Portland to move up 1 spot when they like the guy you don’t prefer…that’s pathetic.

#2 for #3 and a 2nd?  A future pick to move up?  Our #2 and our #27 for one of your good contracts and #3?

The average fantasy football amateur knows these moves.  Give me SOMETHING/ANYTHING and you can lock your guy in.  Otherwise we’ll draft Scoot and see what the Pelicans offer.

Or we’lll just stick with Scoot.

To me, it’s not about the players themselves or the fits as much as it is the miss in optimizing the overall value of this pick.

Hopefully this all works out for CLT and Miller.  I’m a fan now and rooting for him.  But damn.

    • The only WR that makes sense in the first is KC Concepcion. He fills multiple roles in the offense and is a PR specialist.
    • That depends upon what happens with receiver this year and what happens with free agency next year. Hopefully we'll be good by addressing receiver this year (regardless of whether we snag one in the first round or not). If we don't and are unlucky enough for to Coker get hurt (and X solidifies his bust status, and JAGs be JAGing), then we may be fùçked! But I assume that Dan Morgan and company will feel compelled to look for answers in free agency and use that to set up the draft just like this offseason.  Reality is not as simple as we drafted this position X times in a row in the first. If you're suggesting that we could draft a position in the first four times in a row, that's not likely. At some point probability has to be taken into account. I mean, how many years in a row can you be unlucky with one position?  As I've said at times before, you try and plan for the long term personnel-wise and cap-wise of course, but things happen so, in a sense, you still must look at each season--each "team" if you will--unto itself each season. So many things can happen between now and then. A major industry can profoundly impact the bigger picture (like this year), someone could offer you a trade proposal that you can't resist, players might not have progressed to your expectations--you know, things like that. Moreover, you have to be aware of the dynamics of each draft class, including the fact that there could be unexpected draft risers and fallers during the college season. That's a lot. As of today, we expect the 2027 draft to have more exclamations than question marks at OT and the QB class and WR group is expected to be exceptionally strong. We'll have a clearer picture of whatever we'll have to focus on next year at this time.  Lastly, keep in mind that there's always more than one way to get you to where you want to go. The yearly puzzle is not static, it's dynamic and complex.
    • I'm fine with Thieneman or McNeil-Warren.. Rodriguez won't last until 51 so they would have to trade up, he may end up being a late first round selection. Anthony Hill Jr. is more likely to be available. I don't expect defense in the first round now after the murmurings of finding another weapon for Bryce.
