Smitty's interview on the Panthers offense

Think about what Smith could do with the Colts. Manning to Smith. I think he's probably trying to figure out a way to get traded. I've never liked Smith as a person, but I do feel like he's waisting his time here (aside from the $$$$) so in that sense I'd like to see him do better elsewhere.

We have 3 true superstars, Smith, Peppers, and Williams. We are only getting our moneys worth out of Williams, the other 2 are wasting their talent here imo. Peppers wanted out, and now Smith probably does as well.

The line that got my attention the most was when Smitty said "I just keep coming back for some reason."

Kevin Greene - He is probably frank with opposing teams media when his interview is doubling as an "off the record" job interview for that team. Would he be as frank with Browns or Rams media? I don't know.

I think this is another reason Fox is gone.....Jenkins, Pep, and soon it will be Smitty. That is 3 pretty elite players.....all wanting out of here......and that points to coaching.

If Smitty does want out....that would be the 3rd guy in 3 consecutive years.

I'm scared he is going to demand a trade :(

I wouldn't worry about that. He isn't going anywhere. Beside, JR love him & I'm sure he will have a talk with him about staying here. Isn't JR like a Godfather to him with some of the pics of him kissing Smitty that several Huddlers posted here? :P

It's more than just the QB play---the entire design and scheme of the passing game is poorly conceived and executed. Timing routes are rarely successful and most routes are transparent and predictable. It doesn't help that neither Muhammad nor Jarrett is able to get any measure of separation, and Moore had to thread the needle a few times just to enable Muhammad to make catches last Sunday on what should have been comfortably open sideline routes. Davidson has done a simply abysmal job designing this passing game.

With all the criticism of Jake I never hear about Smith or other WR's running the wrong routes on key downs or interceptions and I've seen it all year.

Immediately after a game you might get a snippet about it but later in next week's pre-game hype it's all about pissy comments that leave a lot unsaid and take no personal responsibility for the lack of a passing game. Has anyone ever considered that Smitty having a down year may be partially on him?

I've been disappointed with our position coaches all year. Yes it starts with Fox and yes Davidson is probably a lame duck but imo they should all go. Replacing Davidson alone will not fix anything.

I'm not worried.

If Smitty didn't sound discouraged about the passing offense, then I'd be worried.

This. The fact that Smith sounds dissapointed in the team indicates how much he cares about the team. If he didn't give two sh**s, then I'd be worried that he wanted out.

    • That’s not a bad idea at all. I was really liking the whole cali-style carne asada. We might do that next week instead of enchiladas for the rams. Was planning on: Saints-Gumbo Tampa-Cuban Sandwiches Seattle- Salmon Stew Tampa- Seafood Boil
    • I agree, honestly you can not trade a player that has Balls talent. Just sitting in street clothes FOR years, it doesn't matter if you are averaging 50points on 88% with 18 rebs, 15 asst, 4 stls if you never can play. These are the worst type of players, teasers. Its HIS JOB to get his body in NBA shape and he has proven that he can not. Thus you break the rule about trading top shelf talent. Hell NBA need to have NFL contracts where the full sum isn't guaranteed, you bet your ass if his money was tied to his playing on the court he'd somehow figure out how to stay healthy.   Plus Im a old head, I member when Seth Curry in his 17(Jesus..) year career had ankle problems and guess what, he solved the issues and got all the money, championships, and fame. Ball doesn't have the same drive to figure out his body, he'd rather drive his car on kids feet while rushing home to drive his go-cart on the roof of his condo after missing his 42nd game of the season.....
