I wouldn't hold spot starting against him. He has a couple NFL season under his belt working in trash environments where he did great, better than anyone we have trotted out at QB since prime Cam.

For sure.  I like his athleticism a lot.

Richardson looked good at first. Nice first throw laser for about 8 on a good read. Second pass was a screen. Third pass he got a little pressure and threw off his back foot and sailed it badly for an INT.

He looks like he belongs physically but that third throw shows why he's a development prospect that they're going to have to have patience with.

Jim Irsay having patience? 🤔

I'm surprised. Stetson Bennett looks like he belongs. He looks small and he's taking lots of chances. He's gonna have to learn when to roll the dice and when to just live to play another down in the NFL, but he looks fast out there and his arm looks live. Not sure he'll be a starter but he might play a long time in the NFL.

The Ravens have won 24 straight preseason games. They haven't won any championships during that six year timeframe but they have made four playoff appearances, had four 10+ win seasons, and only one losing season. Prior to that preseason winning stretch they'd only gone to the playoffs once in the past five years and had missed the playoffs for three straight seasons. Don't tell them that the preseason doesn't matter.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
