I haven't given up on Bryce at all yet, but my mouth 'bout fell open when I learned that Stroud had thrown for damned near 400 yards. I think that if anything, this is an indictment on Reich's play calling. Stroud has a worse line, and a so-so receiving corps that may not look as good on paper as ours, and yet he put up more yards in one game than Young has in two.

On a way off note, funny thing: In my twelve team fantasy league, most of the dudes just keep backup QBs on the bench, so it's slim pickings with Garropolo, Tannehill, Ridder, Howell, Dobbs, Dalton, Wilson or Stroud. As Burrow is my QB & probably ain't playing Monday, I really don't have much to pick from. I picked up Stroud.

what I dont get is why people seem to think the Falcons and Saints cant be legit good teams.  Saints Defense played Lights out.  It would be hard for many other teams to have thrown against that defense.  The secondary was blanketing the receivers for the whole game.

It's interesting how quickly narratives can flip. Everyone assumed CJ was going to one of the worst possible destinations with a joke of a staff and a roster devoid of any offensive talent while Young was going to a team although doing some reshuffling with the roster a great fit for a rookie QB to be dropped into because they're  helmed by an all star staff.

Meanwhile Stroud has already thrown for 626 yards and 2 touchdowns at 6.9 YPA while Young is rock bottom in YPA amongst his peers and possibly now sitting because the staff doesn't want to risk his development.

It's why I really think the receivers argument is cookie-cutter-excuse-making bullshit.  Have anyone not a Texans fan tell you about their receiving corps.  We have better talent and despite early impressions here, Reich didn't have terrible offenses where he was OC and HC, so us having record low stats was not expected, nor acceptable.

The stats and qb rating aren't remotely close through 2 games. Put it this way  if you could have the draft after 2 games bryce young wouldn't  be in carolina or Houston or Indianapolis.

I saw him make throws against man coverage while down 31-10. They were not in prevent the whole half.

It’s not the QBs fault the defense is giving up points. CJ is making plays regardless of score. There really isn’t a comparison between the two right now.

It's the QB's fault the LT whiffs on blocks and the WRs struggle for separation, though.

He's just not that good right now and it's ok.
