Pete Prisco from CBS b/f the Panthers-Giants game

The Panthers looked good in beating Minnesota last Sunday night, but that was their Super Bowl. They are done and the Giants still have life. The Giants are on a short week, but they looked impressive in beating the Redskins on Monday night. Look for more of that here. Matt Moore can't do it again. Eli Manning can.

21-17 giants.

-stayed tuned for our grade that comes out tmr.

Let's make it a "Pete 'n' Pete" thread, shall we? Heres Pete Schrager's pre-game write up:

Carolina at New York Giants: To quote the great Marshall Mathers, “Will the real New York Giants, please stand up?” The same Giants defense that was lit up by the Eagles at home two weeks ago kept the Redskins to just 12 points Monday night in Washington. New York’s 45 points Monday night were the most the Giants had scored on the road since 1954. With their season on the line, look for the Giants to win their last home game played in the original Giants Stadium. I once saw a man go to the bathroom in a sink at Giants Stadium. Man, I’ll miss that place. The Pick: Giants 24, Panthers 16

Good times.

Like I said before, I like how everyone was oblivious to the fact the Giants beat up on the Redskins and treated it like they just mopped the floor with Indy or something.

And thats how I made $100. I had 2.4:1 odds the Giants would win. I just wish I would have put $5 on the Panthers to win by 22 I would have made $500. And I would have but chickened out.

I watch the game last night with a Cowgirl fan and she actually sit there and said that the media was not biased towards Dallas. I was like yeah thats why every year a majority of so called "NFL experts" pick the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl when they havent even won a playoff game since '96. The media is biased is hell, both in politics and sports.

Speaking of cowboys bias, I watch that game at Buffalo Wild Wings in Asheville,NC and there was maybe 2 or 3 redskins fans in the entire place but every one in there was a Cowboys fan. I was a Skins fan for the night as I had money on Romo to choke. Of course the only time he doesn't is when I have money on him.

dude for every person who says something like that, there is someone who says the contrary. Warren Sapp said at about 11 est Sunday morning that the Giants were gonna end that stadium's reign with a huge L. HUGE L. He made a point to say how bad the Panthers were gonna spank the Giants.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
