2010 Off-Season Mock Sign-Up (March)

Carolina Crazy V2

Recommended Posts

Please review the rules, timeline and available teams below.

Heres how it works, in summary:

1. Everybody signs up for a team and become their GM.

2. They make trades to improve their team just as in real life.

3. A draft takes place.

4. Everybody submit their final team depth chart and argue about who has the best team.

We did this last year and it was a lot of fun. I wanted to start the sign-up early this year so we can assure that all spots are filled with dedicated GMs. Do not sign up if you are not dedicated. This doesn't require much time, but a group of active users makes for the best experience. I will send you a P.M. in late January to reassure that you are still interested and if you do not answer, you're team will be opened up to other owner. Also, I feel that we should reserve some time to allow GMs to make trades.

Teams will be updated daily.

Rules:

1. Trading

1a. Players and draft picks may be traded.

1b. Trades must be posted in the "Trade Discussion Thread" which will open on January 25th and remain open until March 7th. Both GMs involved in the trade must confirm the deal.

1c. All trades are subject to veto, which must be used within 48 hours of trade confirmation.

3. Sign-Up

3a. After January 31st, you may not change your team.

3b. I will send all GMs a message on January 20th asking them to confirm that they are still interested. If you do not do so within one week, you will lose your team.

4. Rosters

4a. Our virtual rosters are set on January 25th. Any real life changes(released players, trades, free-agent signings, etc.) after this date are not counted in our virtual offseason.

4b. If a GM uses a roster that is updated from a date past January 25th and are caught, they will be warned. If they are caught again after being warned or do not make changes to their flawed roster, then they will be subjected to penalization(Removal of draft picks). The extent of the penalty will be my choice and increase in severity as the GM continues to ignore warning. If this continues, I reserve the right to remove any GM that does not comply with the rules.

4c. Any player that is on the roster as of Jan. 25 (Whether on the active roster or practice squad) may be submitted in the teams depth chart.

4d. Rosters must be submitted by January 25th in a "Depth Chart" thread that will be started in mid January.

4e. Pending 2010 free agents are assumed retained by their current team.

All rules are subject to change.

My guess is a mock draft, b/w all that sign up, before the actual draft. Trading picks, actually drafting players, and so on.

With Cleveland with a lot of picks I picked them, if that's not how it works...ehh, Browns.

Also, I was hoping I could draft John Fox...

    • Jack Roslovic: Only 2 other UFA, right-handed centers age 28 or under had more points (39) than him- Sam Bennett (51) and Pius Suter (46). There were 4 other centers age 33 and older who scored more: Gireaux (37), Marchand (37), Tavares (34), Granlund (33).  Unless the Canes go old, if they let Jack walk, they won't get a center who scored more.  Thoughts?
    • nope     This is why we come back every year.  Hope springs eternal
    • It's important to differentiate criticism and hate. I can't speak for that individual you quoted. But most people who have been critical of the Tepper's have been so because both of them have made it a point to put themselves front and center and in the middle of team operations and we have been largely horrific more often than not as a result. If people are making derogatory remarks about her that should be met with an appropriate response but if people are being defensive just because she's being criticized all I can say is people should get used to it. Both her and David would have been getting absolutely skewered by the media and the fans if this were a big market franchise. The Lakers are finally being sold off after years and years of public criticism of Jeannie Buss and even though I'm the furthest you could go from being a Lakers fan just about anyone you could meet who is familiar with the NBA would say the criticism was certainly valid.
