You think if Burris hadn't shot himself he would have been arrested? You think this was the first time he was packing a gun? Reminds of the guy who is running down the street with a TV on his shoulder with no shoes or shirt at 2 in the morning yelling unfair profiling when he gets stopped by the police.

All Im saying is they are making examples out of the high Profile black people. Take that as you will cause thats JMO.

And all I am saying is that they are making examples of high profile people who drew atttention to themselves and subsequently are charged with a felony for gun possession who also happen to be black.

Well... I understand putting him away. I mean an unregistered gun, which he must not know how to use very well, seeing he shot himself... what if it had been some random person in the club and they ended up dying because of it? Sure we cant play the what if game, but most citizens would have ended up much worse off than Plax. He deserved punishment.

yea because thats the law everywhere.....

I mean... how many white dudes do you know that carry guns on them (barring a license)? Its a law strickly to weed out black guys, why do you think there is so much MANDATORY time behind it? I'm not saying carrying around a gun isn't bad thing, and i think it should come with a punishment because it is a problem, but 2 years mandatory? the punishment doesn't fit the crime if you have no prior trouble with the law and you really only had it for protection.

It doesn't warrant two years but your argument is also weak. Carrying around an unregistered weapon, especially if carrying concealed (some places don't allow open carry legally - whether by public ordinances or specific laws), is a particularly bad idea.

There should be mandatory jail time but not two years.

you cant punish some one for what could have happen. and the gun was registered but not in ny, were it is impossible to register a gun.i think he was done after shooting himself anyways. bullshit punishment for him to excessive.

If you had any idea how ridiculous that comparison is, you wouldn't have made it. Someone getting punished for committing a felony is hardly similar to people being murdered or imprisoned because of their faith.

    • The problem with these summary stats and rankings is that they flatten out progression and assume an even performance throughout the year. His first 3 or 4 games of the season don't really tell you anything about his current level of capacity but more about where he started and what his floor was last year. Given his last several games were against playoff teams, that gives you an idea of his current ability coming into the season. But it will serve more as a floor than a ceiling given the upgrade in talent on offense. And a better defense should give us more stops which results in shorter fields and more opportunities. And going into his third year there is no reason to suspect he will regress. His success wasn't  based on being superhuman but being smart and taking what was the defense was giving him. Distributing to the other guys not trying to do it on his own. He was great at the end when pressured and consistently moved the ball. That makes him a great game manager which is what we need. Something that is easier to do and relies on everyone else rather than having to be a top physical specimen or do it on his own. No one can predict the future but to say we haven't improved much is crazy given just having the Browns anchoring the defensive line will shut down the run and make sure QBs won't be stepping up in the pocket.  Assuming Evero got the message to can the prevent defense and bend until you break philosophy.
