Yes, everyone wants to win now.

That doesn't change

New staff + new schemes + major roster turn over + rookie QB + major injuries across the oline and throught the defense = good luck no matter the desires to win.

Seriously, Y'all Can't be so stupid to not understand this.

you sure were singing a different tune in the off season

Actually, everyone winning now does change. That's why teams go through a rebuilding process. Getting your foundational pieces and programs in place is key to even have a chance at winning.

The decision to not rebuild was made when Rhule was fired. The team needed a new HC and a new QB. Rhule was tanking his way to the number 1 pick. If you're going to fire him, you're starting over. It's a lot easier to start over with the top pick AND your future picks intact. Let Rhule finish the season, get you the 1st pick, and send him packing. But instead we got some moral victories, traded away CMC, one of the top offensive players in the NFL for picks. A rebuild type move. Then we turned down a 1st offer for DJ (I can understand that though) and a haul for Burns who needed a new contract. That's not rebuilding.

Even us stupid people know that going into the offseason with 3 1sts rounders, 2 2nds, 2 3rds, and 2 4ths this year plus 2 1sts next year would be embracing a rebuild. Plus, if we weren't enamored with any of the top 3, we could trade that spot away for even more picks/players.

Tepper, Fitts and Co offseason goal was to win the division right now. When you embrace that mentality you aren't trying to rebuild. Those are two totally different approaches to team building. Getting your foundation built correctly is more important than winning right away. That's how you end up never having back to back winning seasons in almost 3 decades.

Tepper has been very vocal he wants to win now and you can see that with the offseason decisions. That's probably got a lot to do with why he chose Reich over Steichen or Johnson. Either of those 2 guys would have wanted to build their team from the ground up, their way, even if it meant a losing record the first year. BY was supposed to be the most pro ready QB of the top 3, able to lead to victories day 1. The other 2 had lower floors, but higher ceilings. Not ideal to win a weak division now.

There's no vision here. There's no foundation being built. It's not a rebuild. It's throw poo at the wall and see what sticks. Firing Rhule, trading CMC, DJ, 2 seconds, next year's first, swapping firsts this year has netted us BY and a project pass rusher. 2 players is not a rebuild.

Tepper wanted to win the division right now once instead of bringing in the right pieces to try and control it for a decade. Oline injuries and defensive injuries this year have zero to do with doing a full rebuild that should have started last year.

It's not surprising Houston and Indy are having better results. Those of us who wanted a young up and coming head coach instead of one that got fired just after Rhule last year saw it coming.

Win the division once vs win it for a decade. Pretty easy choice.

Bur seriously, you can't be so  stupid to not understand this.

Since we all love to discuss Burns, what are the chances he is actually traded?

I see a lot of teams who could use him as an extra piece to get them over the hump. The closer we get to the trade deadline some contender might crack and offer us 2 1st for Burns.

Maybe wishful thinking but the best offers doesn't usually come until last minute.

Now THAT is the trade we NEED to make. We can get a few mid more solid picks on top of this trade cause it will fill their immediate NEED while we get our playmaker with breakaway speed for Bryce!

lol Scott Fitterer just reacts from minute to minute with the teams near future in mind he believes that he is going to the playoffs  & then turn right around in the exact same season & starts talking about just one more big deal to get us over the hump.Scott Fitterer is just  unable to parse the situation accordingly due to the fact he doesn't really & truly understand what he is looking at .so with that said ...
