The Golden Calf of Bristol Highlights: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-senior-bowl/09000d5d81616676/Tim-The Golden Calf of Bristol-highlights

NFL.com Wire Reports:

"The Golden Calf of Bristol completed 8 of 12 passes for 50 yards, but his longest completion in the showcase for senior NFL prospects was 11 yards. He never was turned loose as a power runner, like he was in college, and netted just 4 yards on four carries...."

The Senior Bowl obsession this year that's come out of the blue has really weirded me out. You guys all realize that the combine is far and away more important than the Senior Bowl right? I don't understand all of the hype around it this year.

was there hype? wheres this coming from? same thing every year. Bowl then Combine. whats new?

The Senior Bowl is actually pretty huge. Last year Pat White played lights out at the SB and that raised his draft value by a lot. It's not as big as the combine, but it's definitely not to be taken lightly.

Did anyone watch this? I didn't get a chance. How did LeFevour look? I saw his stats, and his completion percentage sucked, but apparently had some big plays?

Honestly though, looking at the stats, none of the QB's did that well. Zac seemed to get the most reps throwing the ball which led to more statistics.

The Golden Calf of Bristol can throw, just a matter of him learning, and he's got plenty of time, I wouldn't rule him out so quickly, he'll be a good QB in the NFL.

Looked to me like half the snaps he took under center, he had 3 guys on top of him before he could even take 3 steps back.

Yeah, I didn't see the big deal. These guys are all over The Golden Calf of Bristol's jock... I watched when he came back in the game in the 2nd half and he looked better than Robinson throwing wise, which surprised me.

He made two impressive completions on consecutive out-routes to receivers that required a great deal of arm strength. He zipped them in there and kept it away from defenders. The two fumbles he had were not really related to his throwing motion, although I do believe he had a fumble knocked up in the air during his "cock back" motion but I believe his teammate recovered it.

I thought he looked a lot better than they made it out to be leading up to the game. Of course, he still looked tons better in the shotgun, but I see some hope for him. All he needs is time and I think he'll be a lot like Vince Young (without the mental issues).

SN: I hope we find a way to get Jacoby Ford and/or Gilyard...

He actually won me over some. He made some pretty prime time throws (and some mistakes).

Really I like the Senior bowl over the combine. Most scouts do too. People can train to get good marks at the Combine but in real situations they dont have that edge. The Golden Calf of Bristol will not be a first round pick unless he just blows away the comp at the combine. I doubt he will though unless its at FB. :D

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
