Good Special Teamer Available

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

The Bills let go of John Wendling, a guy I was hoping the Panthers would draft the year he came into the league. He's a backup safety but is primarily known for his special teams skill. He'd essentially be an upgrade over Quinton Teal.

If we're going to improve the special teams, we need good ST players, not just a new coach.

I think Teal would be a bad loss. He filled in for Harrisburg very well last year.

I must have watch different games I thought our secondary was getting torched with Harris out (I remember seeing him miss quite a few tackles). As soon as Harris came back we started playing better. That could have been the addition of Thomas or just the D getting the scheme. I think at best Teal is a lousy S good Special Teamer.

I think the its a lil bit of both. The entire defense was lost at the time. Also I think when Harris was out we had Godfrey playing his spot.

Quinton teal definitely filled his spot. Godfrey started, but got injured himself. Then Sherrod Martin filled in for Godfrey until he was healthy again. The those 2 practically rotated the rest of the season.

Your thinking of Godfrey not Teal. Teal while not as a hard hitter as Harris played very well for a back up. He is no starter dont get me wrong but he spot filled well.

You know who else has proven to be a great Special Teamer? Tim Shaw.

Yep. My take is that he was let go due to a glut at that position, though I'd rather have kept him than Landon Johnson.

Teal and Wendling are both in the same category as far as safety play. That category being "if it comes down to their starting, we're screwed". As far as special teams value, Teal has some but I'd say Wendling has more.

    • Carolina Way is gone, it went out the window with the Belichick hiring. They'll hire the best coach they can, ignoring everything else if possible.    Athletic reports that the school's top two targets are Tommy Lloyd and Billy Donovan. They don't care the buyout for a coach either, they and the boosters are willing to spend and will be going outside of the coaching family tree 100%.
    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
