Would you make this trade?

Marshall is what Calvin Johnson was expected to be.

What? Have you actually looked at these receivers play with an analytical eye?

Calvin Johnson IS an athletic beast who rightfully is nicknamed Megatron. Don't get me wrong; I think that Brandon Marshall MAY be in that same league, and I'd love to have him here, but Calvin Johnson he is not.

BTW, No way I'd make the suggested trade.

The stats disagree with you.

Not saying it's Johnson's fault. He plays for the Lions. But Marshall has been the beast that Johnson was supposed to be, stats wise.

I can't believe no one would make this trade. Steve Smith has one, maybe two more good years in him. Marshall should be a top receiver for six or seven years to come. Orton and Moore is basically trading one limited QB for another, only Orton has more experience.

Granted! But if our last season didn't teach us anything else, it taught us that QBs can make great receivers look decidedly average. Megatron has been a victim of playing on a piss poor team with below average QBs. If Stafford pans out, and they get their passing game in gear, then you'll see why he's named Megatron.

It has nothing really to do with talent or if the trade is fair. Every Panther fan, I dare to say, has a very emotional attachment to Smith. You could suggest a trade of Smith for Fitzgerald straight up and I would say at least half of the fans would want to keep Smith. And I would be one of them, sad to say.

Same thing could have been said for Peppers a couple of years ago up until he said he wanted out. Until that happens with Smith, fans will have that attachment to him. And I don't think that is a bad thing.

The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
